One question I get fairly often is why functional mushrooms show up in so many of the recipes I created for Project Innerbloom.
The honest answer is because they became a meaningful part of my own life long before they became part of the menu.
I use functional mushrooms every single day. Lion’s Mane and Cordyceps are in my daily stack without exception. Turkey Tail, Reishi, and a few others rotate in depending on what my body needs and what I am moving through at the time. This is not something I do casually or because it is on trend. It is a practice I have built over years of studying nutrition, herbalism, traditional healing systems, and human performance, while noticing the same plants and fungi show up repeatedly across completely different cultures and time periods. People had been using them for centuries and in some cases millennia, and the results kept speaking for themselves.
The three you will see most consistently at Innerbloom are Lion’s Mane, Cordyceps, and Reishi.
Lion’s Mane is the one I reach for when I need my mind working. Focus, creativity, mental endurance, the ability to retain what I am learning. Brain health rarely gets the same attention as physical health but it deserves to.
Cordyceps is about energy, but not the kind that comes with a crash or makes you feel wired. It is the kind that makes you feel capable and steady, like you have something in reserve.
Reishi is what I think of as the slow down mushroom. Recovery, stress support, balance, the ability to actually rest in a world that treats rest like a weakness. I think that matters more than most people realize.
Turkey Tail does not get talked about enough. It is one I come back to consistently for immune support and gut health, two things that affect everything else downstream.
What draws me to functional mushrooms as a category is that they are not about forcing change in your body. They support what your body is already trying to do. They help you recover, find balance, and show up with more capacity for the things that actually matter to you.
That is the whole point of Innerbloom. Not magic in a bottle. Just real ingredients, real food, and real tools that help people feel more connected to their own bodies and their own lives.
If you have never tried them, add the Mushroom Matrix to your next smoothie and pay attention to how you feel over the following days. Sometimes the smallest additions produce the most noticeable shifts.
