The Vorwerk chicken is a rare breed originating from Germany, known for its distinctive black-and-gold plumage. It is a dual-purpose breed, suitable for both meat and egg production, and was developed by Oskar Vorwerk in the early 1900s.

This line originated in the US with Dr. Joshua Granger, Ass. Professor at Mississippi State University. He imported his Vorwerks from Holland in 2020 and Germany in 2021. 18 joined our farm today🐣 Hatching eggs will be available next spring! Contact us if you’re interested in this beautiful breed.

Solo dinner for me tonight. Our wings, dry rubbed. Baked at 400 for 40-45 mins. Tossed in a little Chosen sweet and bold! Delicious! I love cooking, knowing where it came from and what’s in it!
