Meet Finley and Dorothy, our new babies. Dorothy (chocolate brown Angus/Highland cross heifer) was born overnight, so we're putting her at June 7. Finley (white highland bull) was born late evening June 22. His first day, however, was a little scary for us all. With all of us working yesterday, we didn't realize it until later in the day that momma (Blanche) had pushed him out under the fence (she does this with her calves to "protect" them) and he had wandered off, ending up exposed in the hot sun for hours. We finally got him back in and this morning he's up and moving well and nursing. Seems to be doing much better, but will be keeping an eye on him. Zac and I named him Finley. Scottish name meaning white warrior. He's a fighter, for sure! I think his half sister is happy to have a buddy!
