How long does it really take to turn a day from Rochester into a day on the Keuka Lake Wine Trail?

Leave the city mid-morning, and in about an hour and a half you’ll be trading skyline for shoreline, with Keuka’s Y-shaped lake and our six member wineries waiting along the hillsides.

Start with a late-morning tasting at a family-owned Vineyard View Winery on your way down, break for lunch in the village of Penn Yan, then add one or two more tastings at Domaine Leseurre Winery or Heron Hill Winery as you make your way around the loop. Driving a full circuit of Keuka takes just over an hour, not including stops, which means you can see a lot without feeling rushed.

Situated on the east side of Keuka Lake in Hammondsport, Agricolae is the newest project from the award-winning team at Ravines Wine Cellars; a family-owned winery with over 25 years of experience and a reputation that has earned spots on Wine Spectator's Top 100 Wines list five times and recognition from Wine&Spirits as one of the 100 Top Wineries of the World three times.

In the tradition of old-world farm wineries, Agricolae is dedicated to producing crisp, dry, food-friendly wines that are true expressions of the Finger Lakes; and a tribute to the vineyard workers whose hard work makes every bottle possible.

When you visit, you'll find a tasting experience for every style:

Bar Tastings- $15/person, choose five wines from the Agricolae and Ravines portfolio
Seated Flights- $20/person, five wines of your choice with light food options on the scenic patio

Summer is in full swing on the Keuka Lake Wine Trail- and all six member wineries are now operating on full summer hours!

Many wineries are hosting live music and food on weekends, so whether you're planning a laid-back afternoon or a full day on the trail, there's always something extra waiting for you this season.

A few things to know before you go:

🗺️ Ride share services are extremely limited in the Keuka Lake area. If you plan on enjoying a full day of tastings, we strongly recommend booking a local transportation partner in advance. Find our trusted drivers and tour operators on our website.

📅 Groups of more than six are encouraged to make reservations directly with each winery before arriving.

Heron Hill Winery earned a Platinum Medal and 96 points from the Beverage Testing Institute -named Best Blaufrankisch in the competition! 🏆

This Austrian variety is rarely grown in the United States, but the cool-climate conditions of Keuka Lake (steep glacial slopes, limestone-rich soils, and the lake's natural moderating effect) create a setting where it thrives. The result is a wine that delivers black plum, black currant, and ripe cherry alongside bright acidity, silky tannins, and a mineral salinity that is unmistakably Finger Lakes.
