Happy National/International Pinot Noir Day! I have been in love with Pinot Noir most of my life. I may have liked 7-up more when I was 8, but now I”m 71 and I’m all in on Pinot. I feel so lucky to be growing my favorite grape and making my favorite wine and sharing it with those I love.

Who would have thought I would have found the perfect place to grow this finicky grape and connect with two wonderful winemakers to help me create delicious wine? I am grateful to the universe for how I have been blessed.

It took all night to pick the grapes for rosé last night. We have a very light crop this year because the grapes didn’t pollinate properly in the spring. The good news is the crop is in, and we have delicious rosé on the way thanks to Garry and Reid Brooks Note Winery.

Starting to feel human again after a nap with Moe, the House Panther, and a walk to the vineyard with Gerty, my faithful farm dog. Feeling lucky today. 🍀.

Our Panther Ridge Vineyard dinner was a wonderful success on Friday night. Many thanks to Chef Amber Balshaw Amber Balshaw for another spectacular meal paired with wines from Brooks Note Winery Joseph Jewell | Sonoma & Humboldt County Wines and Suzanne Farver, all created from the certified organic grapes grown at Panther Ridge Vineyard.

We moved our dinner inside due to the threat of smoke, but the evening turned out to be clear, so we enjoyed cocktails on the patio overlooking the Vineyard, dinner inside, and a final toast to the evening back out on the patio under the stars.

The Chardonnay is finally bottled! We will be pouring it at our Panther Ridge Vineyard dinner on July 31. Only a half dozen tickets left. Get your seats reserved while you can!

Our Mimosa tree is in full bloom. I wish I could share the sweet floral fragrance. I smelled it first thing this morning when I walked outside, and that was from my bedroom door 100 yards away.

Our Vineyard Dinner is a little over two weeks away on July 31, and I am hoping the fragrance will still be with us that evening as the tree is right next to our dining area. You all should come and find out!🌸🍷😍

Sparkling Rosé on the way! Adrian Joseph Jewell | Sonoma & Humboldt County Wines brought a sample of our upcoming sparkling Rosé of Pinot Noir this week. It is a gorgeous blush color with lovely fruit and fully dry. It is going to be fabulous.

Now the hard part - waiting while it ages on the lees for at least another six months before we bottle it for real. Patience is not my virtue, but it will be worth the wait. 🥂

The goats and sheep are headed home today - they did a great job mowing our hillside. I am sad to see them go.

I finally got some good shots of their cute faces while they were in close quarters waiting to be loaded into the trailers for the ride to their next job.

It was a great time at Garagiste last Saturday, including a fun interview with and Nora Murphy of KSVY Sonoma 91.3 FM.   I was lucky to be paired with , author of the book Sideways which was made into that earth shattering movie of the same tittle, putting Pinot Noir firmly on the map. He’s now a featured writer for Somm Journal.

It was great to chat afterwards with Rex about our shared love for Pinot Noir.

Such a fun event. Met lots of interesting people and tasted some lovely wines. 🍷

The sheep and goats have arrived! I rent them every year to mow the hillside near my house across from the vineyard. There was a stubborn patch of weeds on a steep section and the goats made short work of it. Three guard dogs keep everybody safe. ❤️
