The goats and sheep are headed home today - they did a great job mowing our hillside. I am sad to see them go.

I finally got some good shots of their cute faces while they were in close quarters waiting to be loaded into the trailers for the ride to their next job.

It was a great time at Garagiste last Saturday, including a fun interview with and Nora Murphy of KSVY Sonoma 91.3 FM. 

I was lucky to be paired with , author of the book Sideways which was made into that earth shattering movie of the same tittle, putting Pinot Noir firmly on the map. He’s now a featured writer for Somm Journal.

It was great to chat afterwards with Rex about our shared love for Pinot Noir.

Such a fun event. Met lots of interesting people and tasted some lovely wines. 🍷

The sheep and goats have arrived! I rent them every year to mow the hillside near my house across from the vineyard. There was a stubborn patch of weeds on a steep section and the goats made short work of it. Three guard dogs keep everybody safe. ❤️

🏅 Cheers to a big day at the Press Democrat North Coast Wine Challenge!

We’re thrilled to share that our 2023 Reserve Pinot Noir took home:
🥇 Double Gold
🏆 Best in Class
🍇 98 points

“Very delightful; rhubarb and strawberry and spice; earthy.”

And our 2025 Rosé of Pinot Noir wasn’t far behind:
🥈 Gold Medal
✨ 93 points

“Bright red cherry. Crisp and classic.” Right on indeed! 🍷🌸

I stopped by Brooks Note Winery today taste the Panther Ridge Chardonnay in process with assistant winemaker Reid Kinnett. We plan to bottle it in July or August, but it is already tasting fabulous. It has bright citrus, aromas and a lovely balance of fruit and acidity. We were looking for something that would not be buttery or too oaky, and I think we have succeeded. I am so excited for this release — our first Chardonnay!
