The day before our back field was due to be mowed Major, our farm dog, flushed out some wild turkey poults from their ground nest. (Don't worry--they had an easy escape as he was just curious, not hunting! This saved them, as knowing they were they we cordoned off the area where they were nesting so they wouldn't be disturbed.

Here's the mother turkey being very concerned about her babies.... You can hear them cheeping in the background!
