Hey everyone ā€” quick update on the waffle šŸ§‡.

We had to pause things when Hurricane Isaias came through this past weekend. The storm left us without power, dealing with debris, and focused on getting the property and birds taken care of
Weā€™re currently running on generators and spending time clearing the yard and getting back to a more normal routine.
Everyone (and the flock) is safe and accounted for. Weā€™re working through the cleanup and will get the waffle back on track as soon as things settle a bit more.
Weā€™ll post an update once weā€™re ready to resume or draw, and we really appreciate everyoneā€™s patience and support while we get sorted.

Funny thing today, I caught Bailey gatekeeping the barn. With the fence down in several areas we put up chain link around the barn to keep other animals out as best as possible

Thank you for sticking with us. Weā€™ll be back at it soon.

We are so thankful things did not get worse than this. Neighbors came over to help open up the barn today and it will be months before things get back to normal.
Temps are cool today and we will take it. We didnā€™t make it to the chicken show this weekend, but happy all the birds are safe, dry, and keep popping out eggs šŸ„š

Walked around with the next door neighbors and wowza with the damage in the driveway. So many trees are down.
Thankful as it could have been worse.

The barn is officially closed. We wanted to say thank you for all the kind words, messages and phone calls. Weā€™ve heard a couple transformers blow up already. We are as ready as we can be. So thankful that my work place allowed me to take off an extra day to help out around the house.
Bunkered down with Tony, Brent, Lexi, Bailey, CeCe, Rocco, and Pearl.
Looks like we are going to be getting a direct hit. Hoping all our friends fair well in this storm and will check in as we are able to.

We havenā€™t forgotten about the šŸ§‡. Been busy prepping the barn and yard for the hurricane thatā€™s hitting us this weekend. Tony doesnā€™t take chances with hurricanes. Heā€™s seen past hurricanes change so fast and the fluffs šŸ“ are a high priority.
Thankful for my workplace that allowed for me to be off an extra day so I can help with prepping.
