When I forget to let out the last two goats due to a bungee cord vs my left eye accident, and then I walk back out to the barn a couple hours later. That look x2… 😳

Nature… I love it! 🩷
The colors, textures, sounds and smells. The feelings you get when you’re in the midst of it. It’s like a palate-cleanser for your mind. It’s a reset button. It’s a stress reliever. It draws you closer to God.

There’s always something to be learned from nature because it is God created. Take this little plant, for instance. I wish I had taken a before picture of it. Despite my valiant efforts it was tall and straggly. The leaves were falling off. The colors were dull. It was stagnant and most likely dying.

I was 5 minutes away from tossing it in the garbage when God whispered, “Cut off the bad stuff and it will thrive.” Well, just about the whole thing was bad stuff so I cut it down as far as I could. Within a couple weeks it looked like this. Vibrant colors, new growth, healthy and happy!

When we remove the bad stuff from our lives we change, for the better. The bad stuff can be a person or persons, a habit or a sin. Whatever it may be, if we cut it out of our lives we will become healthy, happy and vibrant. There will be new growth and it will be beautiful! 🌻

Soooooo yesterday I was refilling the baking soda and mineral feeders in the sheep and goat pens. We store the baking soda and minerals in small bins to keep it all fresh. I placed the open goat minerals bin on top of the pen wall before opening the gate to enter.

That little nagging voice inside my head said, “You’d better close the top. You know the goats grab and knock over anything and everything that’s within reach.” I closed the top of the bin… but neglected to lock it. During the 2 seconds it took me to open the gate, Nellie had jumped up, grabbed the bin and threw it to the floor, where most of the minerals spilled out.

I was more mad at myself than her but I did say, “Nellie!! Did you HAVE to do that??” As I was bending over to scrape the minerals back into the bin, she licked my cheek, twice. She had made it impossible for me to stay mad, so I gave her a good between-the-horns head scratch that she thoroughly enjoyed.

What’s the moral of the story? I’m not quite sure but it involves REALLY listening to that voice inside your head, a kiss on the cheek, forgiveness and being slow to anger—all of which can be found in the Bible. 🥰

I called Nellie a “fat cow” this AM. At this point, I’m not sure if that was offensive to her or a compliment in the animal world. 😂
