Trying to stand up some of the corn to help with pollination and Angel insisted that I take a Puppy Break.
She was stuck to me like this until I stopped to give her loves.

My dear sweet corn customers,
You will have to wait a bit longer for sweet corn this season. I am not sure how this first batch is going to bounce back & get a good enough pollination to grow good ears. I'm more heartbroken because this year's proceeds were going to go to my fundraising campaign for Give Kids the World. But, this is what being a farmer is, you can't control the weather.

This morning's storm was rough!
I will take a look at the damage later today but I don't think standing it back up will help.

Yesterday vs Today

Huge thanks to Kristi Maupin-Shiner and Nicole Johnson for coming out to help me stand this back up so it isn't an absolute nightmare when it comes time to pick. Those that have picked corn after a wind storm know what it's like!

Now, no more strong winds with 3 inches of rain please.

The wind and rain knocked over all of my sweet corn.

I will be out tomorrow picking each one of these plants up to help stand it back upright so it won't be so complicated when it is time to pick corn.

If any volunteers want to help, let me know and I will give you a free large bucket of corn from this batch!
