This little one was between Percival and Nebraska City this afternoon. Good thing we were done hauling grain for the day!

When you come pick corn for the first time, I share how we are a registered Heritage Farm in Iowa.
My parents just got back from helping my great-aunt move into a nursing home and brought back this picture of the current farm house after it was newly built in the early 1900s. You can see similarities, but a lot has changed! Not sure who everyone is in this photo, but I have been told that my great grandfather was around 6 when this was built.

Sunday Scaries: a feeling of anticipatory anxiety one may feel when the weekend is almost over, either because the work/school week is about to begin, there is no more time for fun or relaxing weekend activities, or both.

The mowed down sweet corn patch is giving me the farmer version of Sunday Scaries....August Scaries. I do love harvest time and putting in a hard day of work during the fall. I actually thrive on being super busy. But I also really love summer & get bummed out when it's almost over. I am sure a lot of you can relate!
Feel free to share your Sunday Scaries in the comments below.

Fence wires are all packed up, canopy taken down (mainly because of the giant gash cause by the wind), and waiting for the last customers of the season.

What a fantastic sweet corn season!! I don't think I had any ears waisted because they didn't get picked!

I am already excited for next year and thinking up some merchandise ideas and other fun things. If you have any suggestions, comment below.
*I despise ordering and trying to sell anything with sizes*

Finn was a sneaky thief and grabbed an ear of corn for himself. Angel needed one too.

Thank you to everyone who has donated to the campaign and to all of you that came and got corn this year!

The fundraising goal has been reached, but that doesn't mean the work stops.
If you feel inspired to donate more to the campaign, visit www.give.gktw.org/LaceyK

Again, thank you for helping make dreams come true for sick kids and their families.

Absolutely gorgeous morning out here on the farm!
The corn is perfect picking and only has a few days left before entering into the "dough" stage.

I did block off a few hours this afternoon so I could support the town of Sidney for their Rodeo Days & Parade but there are still a lot of times available today!
