Locally sourced food is more nutrient rich than its long distance counterparts. I would say even above organic. In a perfect world everything would be grown organic, but I’ll take local over organic any day. We grow or raise what we can and search for locally raised or grown foods in other places around us. We still buy some staples from the supermarket, but we are slowly getting away from as much as we can. We still buy staples like rice, flour, cane sugar, and many other things from the market. But a local beef burger on a homemade bun cannot compare.
