As benevolent conspiracies go, this was a good one: our friends at Paragon Alpacas sent a couple of their gray Herdsires (A Paca Fun’s Silver Impact and Gray Alpaca CO’s Gray Enough) up here last year with the idea that we would breed them with a select bunch of our females possibly capable of producing gray or black crias, and that we (CCNF & Paragon) would in turn share ownership of any resulting offspring. This young fellow, sired by Silver Impact, is out of CCNF Charming, one of only two remaining Royal Ring of Fire daughters, and perhaps best known up until now for being the maternal grandam to Leviathan and his many full siblings. For those keeping the genetic diversity score at home, this means that this young male has his imported great-grandams, 4Peruvian Capuchin and 5Peruvian Margarita just two and three generations back respectively. As ever, we shall see where this all goes! 🤞🏼💗😁🦙

We’re free! After several days of being socked in while the farm cleaned up from the latest snowfall (I refuse to call 7” a storm), Jocelyn and the Showgirls (also the possible name of a bad girl band) bust out into the N1 paddock for some well deserved sunshine. 🌞🦙💗
