🎃 A major first-time audit accomplishment for Pumpkin Pyle!
Congratulations to my client, Pumpkin Pyle in Floydada, Texas, on successfully completing and passing their first-ever GMP/GAP audit — with an outstanding score!
About six months ago, Pumpkin Pyle partnered with KBP Consulting, LLC with one goal in mind: build a strong, compliant program and prepare their operation for a successful first audit.
Over the past six months, we worked together to develop and implement the necessary food safety programs, risk assessments, SOPs, records, training, and operational practices needed to meet audit requirements. Seeing all of that preparation come together on audit day — and result in such a strong score — is incredibly rewarding.
What makes this accomplishment especially noteworthy is that Pumpkin Pyle grows and packs inedible, decorative pumpkins. Historically, commodities like these may not have faced the same audit expectations as produce intended for consumption. However, major retailers, including Publix and other large grocery chains, are continuing to strengthen supplier requirements and are now requiring third-party GMP/GAP audits for operations like Pumpkin Pyle.
Rather than simply viewing this as another customer requirement, the Pumpkin Pyle team embraced the process, invested in their operation, and committed to doing it right.
Six months of preparation. Their first-ever GMP/GAP audit. An outstanding score. Mission accomplished. 🎃👏
I’m proud of what this team accomplished and extremely grateful that they trusted KBP Consulting, LLC to guide them through the process from the ground up.
Congratulations, Pumpkin Pyle! This is a milestone worth celebrating — and a great example of how preparation, commitment, and teamwork pay off.
