First year showing pigs and the Halling family (Lyndi Poll Halling) did an excellent job! They had trouble early on putting weight on their gilt and ended getting her to 275 for the Weber fair! Anyone that has raised pigs knows that’s a huge accomplishment in its self. Getting the right amount of weight and finish on your pig is half the battle!

Congratulations! You wouldn’t be able to tell this is only her second year showing! Looking like a show pig pro and the judge agreed as well, taking 3rd in showmanship and 4th in market class! So impressed with her determination and sticking with it even though her pig wasn’t the easiest to work with!

Give your pigs some extra water to lay in! Its going to be in the 90's for the next week! Thanks to the Bowden Farm mascots, Tubbs & Bubba for being great models of how pigs like to stay cool.

It’s hot! Keep your pig cool! Spray them down often or set up misting system on a timer. Fill up buckets of water they can dump over and roll in the water. Pigs can’t sweat, they need your help keeping cool!

This is one of our buyers from Morgan county. For their fair they are required to show at a spring show to qualify for the fair. (Which in my opinion is an awesome thing it weeds out people who aren’t committed and helps the kids to be more prepared) We are so proud of all her hard work, she took 5th overall in showmanship and in her weight class she took 2nd in market! Can’t wait to see how her and her pig do at the fair! Keep it up!
