I get to put my new skills to work!

Last week I set up 4 of our young heifers to AI and ugh ... Saturday can't come fast enough.

Cowgirl is a daughter of Legacy going back to PG Black Friday and BR Jungle Jim. Her Dam goes back to Texana Van Horne, CV Cowboy Casanova, and 3S Danica.

Taki is consigned to Legends and brings in Rebel HR, Shy Iron, HL Brickhouse, and Cowboy Tuff Chex.

Both of them are being AI'd to Jest a Cowboy, our true black bull who's about to be officially the first True Black bull in our breed to reach 100" TTT and currently the #1 in horn. He also brings in size, body, conformation, and temperament.

Diamond is a Rebel daughter out of our almost 90" Handle Bar Helm Charm. She brings in Hubbells 20 Gauge and LL Rosemary.

Tari is also a Rebel daughter going back to our production DH Tari Chex we love.

Both are being AI'd to TKR Royal "T" for a double dose of LLL Rosemary.

Guys, them young heifers are pretty but they ain't got any horns and you need to focus on your own grass.

If you're our neighbor and these are yours just know i check them daily and they've been very respectful of the fencing but boy do they need to move on.

3P Black Voodoo is what champions are made of.

He looks fierce but he's a gentle soul who loves hand fed treats and attention. He is VERY ready to call some girls his own and get to work.

His Dam is the 96" Bayou Amelia and his sire is one of the first Jungle Jim sons.

He's over 41" ttt as a yearling, passed his prelim BSE including scrotal size, and he's just going to get better.

I’ve had several ask how we sanitize tagging equipment.

We KISS (keep it stupid simple) around here and I buy alcohol wipes to use in between animals then do a thorough clean once done.

Also FYI I prefer the 90% ones but if this is all I can get my hands on I take it.

The Midwest Longhorn Affiliate Sale was a great time and we picked up 5 pairs. 3 of those pairs were part of their Youth Program where they gave our kids under 16 an opportunity to purchase with money towards it. We jumped on that opportunity.

Today 2 of our girls (Sorry Sav you're too old) and Toot picked out the pairs they wanted and named their calves. Our incentive as parents is to give them the chance to care for and market their calves to turn around and sell at a later time with full funds theirs to use towards college expenses.
