It has been a hot second since I've done an update.... so let's dive in!!!ππ¦ππ
We currently only have about 12 laying hens. Unfortunately, we have lost a lot of them do to our dog. We ordered replacements and hatched some this year so we have 40 new girls on deck to start laying this fall.
As always we did a garden but I did scale back because of exspecting a baby in early October. Well as always over did it on out tomatoes π€£π So we will be in full swing canning spaghetti sauce very soon.
Looks like an off year for our apple trees. So hoping to get some apple butter and sauce made, but it isn't a bummper crop like previous years. If your looking for our apple butter goodness we will have a very limited amount this year for grabs.
No meat birds this year for us. Unfortunately, do to how I time out our meat birds they would be due to butcher in November and it was just a bit much to take on while pregnant.
Sadly, I wont be doing any vendor fairs this fall. It has been a real struggle staying on top of everything. I am always open to taking orders for breads, bagles, and muffins, but its by request only for this year. Sorry for the inconvenience.
We are also hoping to welcome new baby goats this fall. So I will try my best to update. I feel like this summer has gone by so fast.
I am hoping to take on some new adventures come spring when things mellow down for us.
As always stay humble and kind,
Newbury's Happy Homestead
