UPDATE! UPDATE! UPDATE! UPDATE! UPDATE!
Greetings Starlight Dog fans, supporters or those wishing to be one soon! As you may have guessed from that header, here's a quick update....
I've been working hard behind the scenes to get everything up to CODE for the cart. This includes insuring the cart, registering the business and getting health department certified. I have many friends in the food service industry and every one has advised me not to do public events without proper licensing. I trust these people and getting ticketed/fined this early on in the business would be pretty dumb, especially when I understand the rules and regulations.
These things take time and like many (heck, most) other businesses out there, many of these regulatory agencies are backed up. I don't know why, maybe they're understaffed, maybe they got a massive backlog due to everything being shut down or maybe lots of folks decided to take the downtime to pursue a new endeavor like mine and it's created a surge.
If you're Petaluma local, you probably noticed many new food related businesses (hellloooo Sol Food) are similarly stalled and there's just not much to be done other than let people do their jobs best they can.
I also have FOUR part-time jobs which has made it hard to devote enough attention to getting MY side of the paperwork, etc.done. However, I took leave of the one PT job that was taking up a huge swath of my time and now, everything is in the process of being completed to make Starlight Dogs above board.
It could be days, weeks or a month but it IS happening. I appreciate the texts and messages asking what's up and while this quick update is overdue, I hope it all makes sense.
I'm super excited to serve y'all some delicious dogs. andI KNOW you're going to be stoked. Just a little more time and we'll be all set.
