Thank you all for your interest in preserving English Hill. We appreciate the community coming together to preserve this vital landscape. Over the last six years we have been in conversation with the property owners working towards a mutual agreement for the future of the land. We have recently been apprised that the property has been listed for sale. We wanted all of you to know this fact as soon as we did. We will continue to work towards our shared goal of preservation!

As many of you have noticed, the property owner of the English Hill parcel has placed large “No Trespassing” signs around his acreage terminating access to the trails that lead to La Cresta Ridge and Ravine. His current plan is to fence off his property and to build his own single family home. Our committee is in communication with him to come to a mutually agreeable solution that would provide a trail for the public as well as retain his privacy. We ask at this time that the community respect his requests and utilize the Hayes Lane access point to visit La Cresta Ridge and Ravine. We will certainly need your input and support going forward and will keep you informed as progress advances. Please contact us via our contact page (https://www.lacrestaridgeandravine.com/contact) on our website if you have any questions. Many thanks for your continued enthusiasm for keeping La Cresta Ridge and Ravine in its natural state!

We now have the beginnings of a true working committee for Saving La Cresta based around residents in West Haven. Also we now have indications that, more than any time in the past, the owners of the property may be willing to consider a realistic price to purchase. We can tell numerous Petalumans are watching what happens with La Cresta. We recently got lucky with a very intelligent local woman who is now helping us with environmental issues. We ABSOLUTELY need help locating funding but this is not an endless chase. When we raise sufficient funds the property is purchased and we're done. We will have secured open space. So if you feel strongly about saving open space propose yourself to help out. Easiest way to volunteer, call me 707 778-2100 and we can talk. Michael

The meeting with residents of West Haven on Oct. 20th gave us the beginning of a working committee to locate and secure funding to purchase the La Cresta property. We will be seeking other volunteers as well. Expertise in fund raising, law, general business and real estate development are all very much welcome. You can contact Michael at 707 778-2100 for more details.

We are looking for a few local Petalumans who are concerned with the future of the La Cresta property and may wish to offer their comments occasionally. You can message through FB or you're welcome to call Michael at 707 778-2100.

On October 20th residents of West Haven, the development immediately west of the La Cresta land will have a meeting open to any residents of West Haven. The La Cresta coalition will have a few members present to answer questions and help generate a plan for future protection of the La Cresta property. If a developer would ever attempt to develop La Cresta an existing easement travels directly through West Haven and exits up a hill on the east end of the development to reach La Cresta. That would mean residents would be dealing with a flow of construction traffic for months or years and after construction the new neighbors would be using West Haven streets for travel. So West Haven residents have plenty of reason to be up to date on the La Cresta situation.
