Located just outside Petaluma and just over the Marin County line, this is the perfect place for a family outing. In addition to our u-pick apples and pears, we often have other farm products available as well. The u-pick season opens in mid- to late August and usually runs into October. Watch our page or website for specifics. Chileno Valley Ranch also sells whole, half and quarter beef,

and whole or half lambs. We sell only directly to families, not through a middleman. A quarter cow is about the size of 4 paper grocery bags and includes a variety of cuts. This beef is very, very lean because we only feed on grass, no corn or other fillers. The animals are humanely raised and spend their whole lives on the ranch. Please contact us directly about meat purchase. It was originally built in the 1880s, and Sally and Mike rebuilt it in the 1990s, recycling the wood right back into the new project.

You may register for an entry time slot of either 9, 10 11 or Noon. While the number of family reservations will be limited each hour (to avoid overcrowding), please do not feel you must leave at the end of an hour. However, the farm does close promptly at 1 p.m.

** The reservation system we use ALWAYS sends a confirming email. As long as you specified your email address properly on the reservation form, YOU WILL get a confirming email. If it doesn't arrive in a few minutes, *check your spam folder*!

** Please DO NOT register a single family for more than one time slot. Duplicate reservations may be rejected by the reservation system!

Apples and pears will be available, along with other farm products, including olive oil and honey. There will be a $10/carload parking fee, paid when purchasing your farm products.

Unfortunately, climate change has caught up with us, and we will have to cancel the September 15th U-Pick, as well as all planned U-Picks for the rest of September. We will reopen on the 6th of October.

At our farm, each row of apples is a different variety. They normally ripen at different times, and usually one right after another, which makes for an even ripening for U-Pick. However, this year, with the windy, rainy Spring and a week of blistering hot July weather, the pattern of ripening has changed. Some varieties have no apples at all, or very few (Mutsu, Orin), and some have lost fully a third of their apples to Black Spot (Black Spot happens when it is so hot that the apples burn and create a large black spot where the flesh faces the sun). Fortunately, the late ripening apples seem to have done better. However, many of those are small trees, having been replaced a few years ago due to Fire Blight, which killed many trees.

We apologize for the inconvenience and will make sure that those with booked reservations for 9/15 are first in line when we begin accepting reservations for the upcoming 10/6/2024 U-Pick (and beyond!). Please check back!
