Temporary Weekend Chef Needed for Gentlemen’s Farm in Peterborough, NH
Culinary students, passionate home cooks, and non-professional chefs are all welcome to apply.
We are seeking a Chef for a temporary 2-month assignment to cover for our full-time chef who is currently on medical leave recovering from an ankle injury. Our current chef will be available remotely for questions and guidance during the transition.
This is a weekend position on a beautiful private gentlemen’s farm.
Schedule:
• Friday: Prep day (typically 4–8 hours)
• Saturday: Lunch and dinner service
• Sunday: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner service
On-site lodging is available for the weekend if needed. The role focuses on delivering high-quality, sit-down meals for the homeowner, his family, and guests.
Position Overview:
The ideal candidate will be a skilled and enthusiastic cook who takes pride in creating excellent meals and managing a smooth weekend operation. You should be flexible, organized, and attentive to detail. The goal is to ensure the homeowner, his family, and guests feel well cared for during their time on the property.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Prepare and serve high-quality sit-down meals:
• Friday prep for the weekend
• Saturday: Lunch and dinner
• Sunday: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner (for the homeowner, his family, and guests)
2. Create and submit weekly menus for approval by the homeowner and/or executive assistant.
3. Handle all shopping, ingredient sourcing, and kitchen organization for the weekend.
4. Light housekeeping and tidying related to meal service and guest areas (kitchen, dining areas, entertainment barn as needed).
5. Ensure the homeowner, his family, and guests are well cared for, with a warm and professional approach.

UU Scope 0512H (3/21/2020)

Located in Peterborough, NH at Overlook Farm. Up for consideration, and a great opportunity to gain some excellent western genetics from one of the best Hereford ranches in the country! We purchased UU Scope 0512H as a coming 2 year old from Van Newkirk Herefords in Nebraska, and now offer him to you.

This Bull has changed our program. He has produced 40+ calves for us over his tenure here. We have never had to assist with any births. Scope has produced excellent long bodied deep ribbed heifers and several powerful bulls, along with quality beef from fast gaining steer. His calves hit the ground running with easy birth weights, great weaning and yearling weights. Respects single hot wire, very easy going, and trailer loads easily. Maintains great condition on hay and pasture only. He is registered, and it is time for him to move on as our new herd bulls are here to introduce fresh genetics into the herd. We have plenty of pictures of him and his offspring available. He is on the farm along with a lot of his daughters that we have kept if you would like to see them.

We are very excited to introduce our new Herd Sire! R Masterplan 7094…. Coming out of one of the best hereford herds in the country, Rausch Herefords in Hoven South Dakota. Masterplan is a highly maternal, calving ease bull. We really like his EPD profile. His dam is a nice uddered Dam of Distinction cow with great in-herd ratios. We strive to take our herd genetics to the next level with every new herd bull we bring into Overlook. We look forward to offering both bull and heifer Masterplan offspring in the future.
