Temporary Weekend Chef Needed for Gentlemen’s Farm in Peterborough, NH
Culinary students, passionate home cooks, and non-professional chefs are all welcome to apply.
We are seeking a Chef for a temporary 2-month assignment to cover for our full-time chef who is currently on medical leave recovering from an ankle injury. Our current chef will be available remotely for questions and guidance during the transition.
This is a weekend position on a beautiful private gentlemen’s farm.
Schedule:
• Friday: Prep day (typically 4–8 hours)
• Saturday: Lunch and dinner service
• Sunday: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner service
On-site lodging is available for the weekend if needed. The role focuses on delivering high-quality, sit-down meals for the homeowner, his family, and guests.
Position Overview:
The ideal candidate will be a skilled and enthusiastic cook who takes pride in creating excellent meals and managing a smooth weekend operation. You should be flexible, organized, and attentive to detail. The goal is to ensure the homeowner, his family, and guests feel well cared for during their time on the property.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Prepare and serve high-quality sit-down meals:
• Friday prep for the weekend
• Saturday: Lunch and dinner
• Sunday: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner (for the homeowner, his family, and guests)
2. Create and submit weekly menus for approval by the homeowner and/or executive assistant.
3. Handle all shopping, ingredient sourcing, and kitchen organization for the weekend.
4. Light housekeeping and tidying related to meal service and guest areas (kitchen, dining areas, entertainment barn as needed).
5. Ensure the homeowner, his family, and guests are well cared for, with a warm and professional approach.
