Some hard truth about the illegal pet trade.

These two Indonesian blue tongue skinks are survivors of the illegal pet trade. During that time they have faced some hardships and a lack of adequate care. They are doing much better then when they were first rescued by USFW, but still have a ways to go. We hope both make a full recovery and become ambassadors for their species and the illegal pet trade. Always make sure to check where your pets are coming from and that they are coming from reputable, breeders, and pet shops.

The weather might be gloomy but we still had a great time during this tour!!

The eggs we posted a few days ago were laid by our female mountain horned lizard Naga.
The eggs are currently in our incubator but take 160 to 170 days to hatch.

Any guess as to who laid these eggs last night??

Tiny Hunter!

We often get asked about our dart frog being poisonous. Our little one isn’t poisonous! In the wild dart frogs get there poison from the insects they eat, primarily ants. They then metabolize the toxins in those insects into their own skin. In captivity we don’t feed those kind of insects, so our frog dosnt ingest those toxins to metabolize.
