There's just something about homemade sausage gravy that feels like a big Southern hug. ❤️

This is one of those recipes I don't measure—I just cook the way I was taught. Sometimes the best recipes come from memory instead of measuring cups.

Homemade Sausage Gravy

🥄 Cook 3 sausage patties (I actually cook extra because my son likes his sausage without gravy). Let them leave plenty of grease in the pan.
🥄 Crumble the cooked sausage and reduce the heat to medium-low.
🥄 Add about ½ cup all-purpose flour and stir until it forms a smooth paste and the flour is fully incorporated.
🥄 I never measure my milk! The trick I learned was to pour the amount of milk you think you'll need into the bowl you plan to serve it in, then add that much to the skillet.
🥄 Grab a whisk and keep whisking until the gravy thickens. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
🥄 Spoon it over warm, buttery biscuits and enjoy!

The only thing that would've made this breakfast even better? 🍅 A fresh slice of garden tomato on the side.

Y'all, supper tonight was one of those clean-your-plate-and-go-back-for-seconds kind of meals. 🍕🍝❤️

On the menu was a big ol' baked pizza spaghetti loaded with pizza sauce, spaghetti noodles, seasoned ground beef, onions, peppers, pepperoni, and plenty of gooey mozzarella cheese baked until golden and bubbly.

We paired it with homemade garlic bread fresh from the oven and a crisp Mediterranean salad on the side to balance things out.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm over here trying to convince myself that one more helping is a bad idea... but that cheesy corner piece keeps calling my name. 🤣

There's just something about a stormy day that makes a kitchen feel like the coziest place on earth. 🌧️❤️

I've spent most of today with the rain falling outside and the oven, mixer, and stove all working overtime inside. 🍊🥧🍣

On today's menu: ✨ Orange Fluff Salad ✨ Chess Pie ✨ Chocolate Chess Pie ✨ Sushi Bowls

From sweet and creamy to rich and chocolatey, then finishing it off with fresh sushi bowls... my kitchen has been all over the place today, and I wouldn't have it any other way! 🤣

The counters are covered, the dishes are multiplying when nobody's looking, and I may or may not have sampled everything along the way for "quality control." 😋
