Treasure Lake

Treasure Lake Educational Center with an edible nursery, farm, and forest. The pay lake is closed.

Hidden in the hills of Northern Kentucky, Crouch’s Treasure Lake is Kentucky’s largest pay fishing lake and gives a serene natural setting for fishing and recreation. The property is 66 acres of land that holds a 15 acre lake with an irregular shaped coastline and varying depths. Forested hillsides surround the lake and create the ambiance of being immersed in an area that is remote and secluded.

However, Hebron, Kentucky, Lawrenceburg, Indiana, and Cincinnati, Ohio are all very accessible with the later being only 22 miles away.

Fall is ending and new beginnings are kicking off here on the homestead. From goats being born to launching of classes again, this quick blog begins what I hope is more frequent writings. Documenting my work is something I have always loved to do through this online journaling.

Late fall offers a peak into what is and what has been and what will be on the homestead happenings of treasure lake.

A new year always allows for a new rhythm to ensue. Writing has happened again as much therapy for me, learning for you, and telling the story of winter farm life. This blog helps to explain the 7 kettles in the iron, the balance of life and death, and the journey but not the destination.

Winter provides unique rhythms with day in day out farm life, soil building and dialing in our food forest at this slower time of the year.

In case my neighbors were wondering what i was doing last night in the dark with my phone flashlight. Collecting maple sap water to make maple syrup. And yes thats what it means to farm, get stuff done at the time when it needs done. Sometimes the sap run is great and then a hard freeze is on its way, so you go get it again!

We now run an edible landscaping company from treasure lake as it remains our headquarters and homestead. Here is a portfolio page of some of the cool stuff we have done this year!
