Horrifying. The fire started in a manure pit, then was carried by winds to the huge barn, housing mares and foals. Another thing to add to the endless list of things we can do to try to make our barns safer.

A fire at a barn owned by the Hanover Shoe Farms near Littlestown resulted in the death of 14 horses, the farm confirmed on Sunday evening, April 12.
