Our Last Season? Only G-d Knows the Future. But we promise to stand strong until the end to ensure you are served!
Dear CSA Membersāour Ahavah Farm family,
We love youā¤ļø. Truly. And as you know, we are actively trying to sell the farm and head to Israelāour homelandāwhere we hope to start a new farm and become a blessing to a different place and a different community. If you havenāt seen our farewell letter yet, please take a moment to read it (pinned to Facebook). It took a lot to write. It was written with love and tears (lots of them!), and it would honestly mean the world to us if you would read our heart in it. And please know this: our desire to leave is not because we donāt love youāwe do, deeply, and we always will.
This week marks the final CSA pickup/delivery of the yearāand possibly the final CSA season of Ahavah Farm as youāve known it. That said, we have not sold the farm yet. We are hoping to, and if you know of anyone who would want to own and continue what weāve built hereāsomeone with a regenerative, community-minded heartāplease tell them about this opportunity. More on the transition plan below, but first, we wanted to wrap up the season with you.
And with this possibly being our last CSA week, we want to say againāthank you. From the bottom of our hearts. Truly, please read our community letter here on Facebook (pinned above). I canāt fully put into words how much we love you and how grateful we are, and that letter carries what we wish we could say face-to-face to every one of you. You have made the last 11 years of our lives more blessed than we ever could have imagined. But with the kids growing up, and with everything that has transpired over the years, we recognize that it may be time for changeāand we are hoping to sell the farm sooner rather than later.
š„š„AN IMPORTANT NOTE - DON'T RUN TOO FAR YET!:
Hereās the important part, though: if we do not sell the farm on our timetable, we will return for a Spring CSA season. If weāre still here, we not only need to continue earning an income for our family and to pay our bills, but we also want to serve our community until the very last drop that we can muster. And if we decide to do another season, we will commit to it fullyāno half-hearted āmaybe.ā Who knows⦠maybe itās a spring and a summer⦠and you never know, perhaps even another year beyond that. Itās all in G-dās hands and His timing. If He wants us to leave soon, He will need to bring the right buyerāsomeone who will continue this farm with integrity, regeneration, and a heart for community. And donāt worryāweāre not selling this place to condos, or to some corporate land-grab, or to Bill Gates - as some fear (LOL!š). If we canāt find the right buyer in time, that means we wonāt be leaving yetāand if we arenāt leaving yet, weāll still be here serving. And thatās where you all come in: your continued support is what keeps this mission alive as long as weāre here to do it.
šTo make sure no one is ever left high and dry, we have structured our timeline and our listing schedule around the seasons. Any offer, contract, or farm transfer will involve a 60ā90 day window at minimum, and we will only proceed in a way that protects the CSA community and honors what weāve promised you. We love you, and we would never abandon you mid-season.
This transition time isnāt easy for us⦠and we know it isnāt easy for many of you either. Itās scary (absolutely terrifying!šØ) to take a leap like this, to make these announcements, and to step out in faith. But we believe G-d is with usāand we also know that many, many, many of you are with us too! We couldnāt be more gratefulā¤ļøš.
šPractically speaking, weāve decided to give it until February 1st before we begin advertising and committing to a Spring season. If we are still here at that point, we plan to offer a 9-week Spring CSA running between April 3rd to May 29th, and any farm transfer would need to be held off until after the Spring season has completed (into June). Then, if we still donāt have anything we can commit to in time, we will decide by April whether to begin advertising and committing to a 13-week Summer season, which would carry us through August until September. Under those circumstances again, any contracts or transfer would not begin until after the season is complete and we reach September. And if needed, the Fall would follow the same principleāseason by seasonāso that our CSA community is cared for and covered. We feel this is the wisest course of action for our family, our farm and our community and we hope we have your support through it all!š
As always: you will be the first to know of any plans as they transpire, and if you havenāt heard anything by February, be on the lookout for our CSA emails to begin again, and weāll be putting out the call for membership so you can continue receiving the best vegetables, grown in the best soil around, for another season starting in April. Our number one goal in all of this is to make sure our community has the most resilient future possible for as long as possibleāand if we are still here to provide that, you can be assured we will remain committed to you as long as we are here.
We hope you enjoyed your season as much as we enjoyed serving you. And if weāre still here come February, we hope youāll join us again for another beautiful Ahavah Farm CSA season in April.
With all the love in the world,
The Camire Familyā¤ļø
