How do you do your heirlooms?

We’ll be in to tomatoes pretty good once the heat comes back end of the week. There will be basil and black eggplant in the barn today as well!

Irrigation management may be holding you back - it did for us at least.

This is our first year putting four lines of drip irrigation per bed and it seems to be paying off. You never want your tomato soil to get dry and with the high temps of summer, the plant will need water to keep performing.

Even applications of water help with fruit filling and quality consistency. We also use drip irrigation to fertilize our crops, applying timely quantities of potassium to encourage large and flavor fruits.
