Starflower scabiosa is a pretty blue scabiosa or pincusion flower but very short- lived. The treasure in this flower is the dried version that develops on the stem in the field. I love the contrast of color and texture in bouquets. Plant in the Fall in zones 6 and above, and early Spring for colder zones. The plants develop a strong root system and then Spring forth in the Spring for a robust crop.
