this Indigenous Peoples’ Day, we’re honoring the ancestral traditions and wisdom that continue to shape how food is grown.
in the Andes of Peru, our farming partners gathered for a sacred ceremony honoring Pachamama (Mother Earth). through an offering of coca leaves and prayers to the Apus, the sacred mountain guardians, they asked for permission to cultivate the land, protection for the growing season, and blessings for an abundant harvest.
this tradition reminds us that the land is not simply something we grow on, but something we have a responsibility to care for.
today and every day, we honor the Indigenous communities, knowledge, and agricultural traditions that have nourished people and the planet for generations. 🤎
