Thank you all for the incredible generosity you’ve shown these past few weeks since we announced we were closing.

To everyone who took such great care of our staff — through your tips, your gifts, your presence, and especially your words — we are so grateful.

Hearing your stories, and how much Vince’s Fishtown meant to you and your families, has meant everything to us.

Last night was the perfect ending. The shop was packed with families, and it’s something we’ll never forget.

To Destiny, Nick, Kirstin, John, McKayla, Kiera, Michele, and Cassidy — you’ve changed our lives for the better. We love you, we’re always here for you, and we can’t wait to see what’s next for all of you.

Michele joined us in November, and this is her very first job.

She may be a little quiet at first, but she shows up ready to work and does everything that’s asked of her. Michele has quickly become a dependable part of the team and takes pride in keeping things running smoothly — especially making sure the sink area is always spotless.

Like anyone starting their first job, there have been a few funny learning moments along the way. One night Nick asked her to bring a table two wine glasses and two root beers… and Michele very confidently poured the root beers into the wine glasses. It was hilarious and one of those moments we’ll never forget.

Outside of work she’s also a proud cat mom to a very large and very loved cat.

We’re really glad Michele spent some of her first working months with us. If you’re hiring, her reliability, willingness to learn, and positive attitude would make her a great addition to any team.

Employee Spotlight: Kiera

Kiera joined us a few months ago for her very first job, and she came in eager and ready to learn whatever we asked of her.

She quickly picked up the ins and outs of running the back of the house and always takes direction well. When John was out, she stepped in as a server, and once he returned she started getting real time at the pizza table learning prep — and she makes some really beautiful pizzas, showing how much pride she takes in her work.

Kiera is also part of her high school cheer squad and does a great job balancing school, cheer, and work.

We’re really glad we got to meet Kiera and hope this was a great stepping stone for her. She’d love to find a hostess or server position, and we know her dependability, quick learning, and teamwork would make her a great addition to any team.

Employee Spotlight: McKayla

McKayla has only been with us since November 2024, but it feels like she’s been part of the team since the beginning. She fit in with our crew seamlessly from day one.

She came in with experience and quickly picked up back-of-house operations and pizza prep. Given more time we know we’d have her serving and answering phones too… 😉

McKayla is an incredible team player who jumps in wherever she’s needed. Her prep skills are on point — she even taught Shannon a thing or two about being more efficient.

Keep an eye out when the right song comes on, because you might catch her busting a move in the back room.

She brings a positive attitude to every shift and is always asking how we’re doing and how life has been since she last saw us.

McKayla’s adaptability, teamwork, and great personality would make her a wonderful addition wherever she lands next.

Employee Spotlight: John

Some of you might not know that John is actually Vince’s family. His mother and Shannon’s mother (one of the owners of the original Vince’s on Grant) are first cousins.

John started with us in October 2023, and when he first reached out he mentioned going to Vince’s for pizza when he was younger, and always wanting to work at Vince’s. We’re really glad he got that chance.

John’s work ethic is unmatched. He’s been reliable since day one and takes real pride in what he does. He learned to run the back of the house efficiently and always makes sure pizza prep is fully stocked.

But where John really shines is as a server. He loves meeting our customers and their families, and when he was out for a couple of weeks many of you were asking, “Where’s John?” and making sure he was okay.

He’s also a huge music fan and loved stumping the kids with “Do you know who’s singing this?” — which inevitably made the rest of us feel a little old when they didn’t know.

John’s hard work, dependability, and customer service would make him a great addition to any team. If you’re hiring, please reach out.

Employee Spotlight: Kirstin

KirKir started with us as her very first job, and she was such an incredibly fast learner that she quickly became one of our best pizza makers.

Once she mastered that, she asked to learn the ovens and has been a huge help to Nick up there ever since.

When she first started, she said she would never be a server… well, guess what — she mastered that too.

We can also thank her for creating KirKir’s Pizza Poofs, which are a little slice of heaven around here.

She keeps us on our toes, loves to help with inventory 😉, and keeps this place sparkling clean. KirKir is an incredible young woman and we’re so happy we could be part of her story — she’ll forever be part of ours.

If you’re hiring, please let us know. KirKir’s dependability, honesty, hard work, and customer service would make her a fantastic addition to any team.

Employee Spotlight: Nick

Nick has been with us almost from the very beginning — aside from a brief hiatus when he moved away to have a baby. We were very happy to have him back.

He has truly mastered the art of running the ovens almost every night of the week, especially during our crazy Wednesday nights and Super Bowl Sundays.

Nick efficiently cooks pizzas, takes phone orders, jumps in as a server, runs the cheese machine, and loves coming up with new pizza ideas and sauces (including our spicy ranch).

He also steps in as backup manager and is incredibly dependable, trustworthy, and great with our customers.

Nick has been a huge part of keeping Vince’s Fishtown running. If you or someone you know is hiring, please reach out — he would be an asset to any team.

Destiny has been with us for over four years, and to know her is to love her.

In that time she mastered every position in the shop and has been our sole manager for the past year. We truly wouldn’t be where we are without her.

She has an incredible work ethic, is trustworthy and dependable, and is wonderful with our customers. Destiny has a huge heart and never met a stranger.

She also spent countless hours perfecting our garlic knots — which eventually became Des’ Garlic Jawns.

We’re incredibly proud of Destiny and excited for what’s next for her.
