Thank you for celebrating Juneteenth with us. 🖤🧡💙
As we gathered in community, we honored more than a holiday—we honored the legacy of freedom, resilience, and joy.

📍 Juneteenth marks June 19, 1865—the day Union troops arrived in Galveston, Texas, to enforce the Emancipation Proclamation, more than two years after it was issued.

Even when Africans in America were declared free, some remained in bondage—underscoring that freedom has never come without a fight. Juneteenth reminds us of the truth: we’ve always had to demand justice, and yet, through it all—we are still here.

📍 The Juneteenth Flag, created in 1997 by Ben Haith, tells that story. Its symbols represent Texas, hope, new beginnings, and the enduring truth that descendants of the enslaved were—and are—American.

At TONM, we’re rooted in community—and The Overbrook Night Market is a testament to how we continue to honor the legacy of freedom, resilience, and joy.
