Congrats to for releasing her FIRST solo album, “in repose.” Available now on Bandcamp!
So proud and impressed with how this came out. A true artist in every sense of the word. Give it a listen and give her props!
Nicknamed “the Gina Birch of East Durham,” Alyssa Shea comes out of her awkward daughter shell to show the world what little ditties she’s been saving up. Compiled of bits and pieces throughout the years, “in repose” features the tinmouth and Sic Kidz drummer at the forefront and behind a mic. Recorded, produced, and mixed all by herself, the record shows off A Shea’s creative side, jumping from a variety of instruments (including a newly acquired bass), with head turning lyrics and ear worm melodies all in the mix. In a world filled with short attention spans and AI slop, “in repose” is a pleasant reminder that art is meant to be made by artists and albums are best listened to in full - this record flows like the Wissahickon!
Honored to have made a few appearances on the record. Delighted my accordion track from a midwinter jam session somehow got unearthed years later… I don’t remember laying down a guitar track on “y2k slut” but then again, the 2000s were a blur.
In summary, this album is a work of art - enjoy your time at the gallery!
