WE ARE FIFA WORLD CUP READY!

I can’t even believe I’m writing this but Happy 11months to our little meatball of joy! It’s crazy to think that almost year ago you were in mama’s belly. This month has been the most exciting for all of us but especially for Matty! As soon as he turned 10months it was like he hit the accelerator and started checking off a bunch of milestones all at once.

It’s not secret Matty’s and eater but he has mastered it and might I add only expects the best food?! He loves going out to eat and trying new food, I’m pretty it’s his favorite thing! Wonder who he gets that from?! He said his official first word in which we could tell he understood the word and pointed to the object that word was CUP hahaha of course it was associated with food. Personally I’m surprised his first word wasn’t actual food. Speaking of words, Matty has said mama, mom, mommy and dadda. We’re not quite sure if he understands what it means yet and it’s only bean a few instances but we’ll take what we can get. Matty is so so giggly nowadays and loves to babble. He’s also in his pointing era and loves pointing at things that he discovers or what he wants!

Matty is on the move for sure and he’s perfecting crawling. Changing diapers has been a full on contact sport and we fight for our lives daily poopy diaper changes lol. Oh and ICYMI Matty went on his first flight and had his first vacation in Clearwater. There he went to the beach, not a sand guy but def a pool babe (me too Matty) loved the water and absolutely loved having undivided attention from us on the trip. He rolled with the punches and changed schedule, mommy and daddy also managed to roll with the punches as well with a little help from my parents and Yaya lol.

He’s been sleeping longer too and even sometimes putting himself to sleep once he’s ready. And as recently as of yesterday he now likes to feed me his bottle and takes turns taking the bottle with me lol. I’m so in awe with all that he learns so quickly and I can’t believe next month will officially be his last monthly milestone picture. Actually let’s not talk about it lol.

Yesterday was one of those days I’ll be thinking about for a long time.

Philly LOVE Stories started in one of our usual brainstorming meetings. I remember pitching the idea as a short Valentine’s Day series. It was something simple that could highlight love in Philly beyond just romantic love. To my surprise, the team immediately said yes. And not only did they say yes, they started building on it, adding more ideas and helping shape it into something bigger.

What was supposed to be a short Valentine’s Day series has become so much more than that.

I was inspired by my own love story. Not a romantic one, but my love for this city, the community, the culture, the people, the stories and, of course, Visit Philly. I’d like to think we all felt that way.

This project has always been rooted in the belief that for every negative story people hear about Philadelphia, there are hundreds of beautiful ones happening every single day. Stories of people showing up for each other. Stories of friendship, family, community, creativity, service, self-love and neighborhood pride. Stories that remind us why this city means so much to so many people.

Seeing Philly LOVE Stories come to life as a physical activation at Fashion District Philadelphia was surreal. Watching people write their love notes to the city, seeing colleagues show up with so much support and feeling the energy around this project just doubled down on something I already knew: Philly is such a huge part of our own story.

There were so many people who helped make this happen that I’d like to shoutout but the character restriction wouldn’t allow me to do that. But please know I’m beyond grateful to everyone who touched this project in any way, from the team who helped build it, to the people who shared their stories, to everyone who came out, wrote a note, cheered us on or simply reminded me why this work matters.

Philly LOVE Stories has always been about all walks of love. Yesterday, I felt that love in real life.

Thank you to everyone who came out and made this moment so special. ❤️

That’s a wrap! Matty’s first vacation and flights are in the books and we all survived! Seeing Matty take on so many new adventures was so fun. Shout out to who planned the whole trip, my parents and for taking turns entertaining Matty so Mama and Dada could take a breather.

I think we’re ready for Japan now 🤪

Happy Anniversary to my rock my partner in crime, my best friend, my lover. Can’t believe it’s been four years since we said “I do” but filled with a 1000 memories. These past two years have reminded me over and over how grateful I am to have someone like do this whole crazy thing called life. Becoming parents isn’t a walk in the park and more than ever now I believe that you have to have a sturdy foundation to survive the first year if not more. Replacing sleepless nights of dancing to sleepless nights of rocking and feeding to spontaneous days now filled with a very detailed plan worked around when naptime is. From us taking turn on night shifts to giving each other time to fill our cup while the other takes on the heavy lifting knowing one day soon we’ll be able to do more of it together again. All of these challenges along with our blessings and happy moments have come with a true sense of appreciation for our marriage and again I’m just so thankful that it’s you and I! Love you and can’t wait to see what the next year brings us!

Happy 10th months to our Matty Meatball who’s really worked up quite an appetite this month! Matty has been busy eating and on the move! Sound familiar? Guess the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree! Matty is eating EVERYTHING and loving it too! He’s pretty much tried everything from bone marrow to the cranberry walnut bread from Parc but his favorites are sweet potato, pretty much all meats especially mini meatballs, broccoli, cauliflower, avocados, quesadillas and bananas! Matty has both his top and bottom front teeth and boy were they a doozy but now he’s loving being able to eat even more food! Matty now will for the most part sleep through the night and when he wakes up in the am he’ll play on his crib and then watch the door to patiently wait for your arrival. The smiles he gives when he sees you are my Roman Empire, along with his most perfect pinchers. Matty can hold himself up and stand and although he hasn’t quite gotten the whole crawling thing he’s figured out how to maneuver his way around. Our little guy is so funny and witty already he loves shaking his head no and will laugh knowing he’s being silly. We got a big waver on our hands too, he loves waving on his walks and gets really excited when the trucks honk his horn at him when he’s sitting on the stoop. He’s such a stoop kid! Matty loves hanging out with all his cousins! He loves going on his walker and chasing James and Johnny and he loves spending his days with Tal Tal and when he’s lucky Robby too! Matty has become quite the reader with his favorite book being a book all about pasta..go figure and of course a Mrs. Rachel book!

You’ve grown so much in the last month I can’t imagine what next month will bring. Please stop growing! 🥹

A day late ( two days actually) and a buck short but April came in hot and honestly as busy and chaotic as it was I had the best month of this year so far!
