Gowan Orchards is a heritage farm in Mendocino's beautiful Anderson Valley. The coastal weather, protected lush valley, and rich soils have allowed the Gowan family to cultivate some of the best orchards, with sustainable farming practices for 6 generations, and over 100 years of growing great apples.

Baking a pie? Now you can pick a bag of organic heirloom apples from our vintage farm truck. Shop while you enjoy your glass of applewine cider!
Here’s our pick for the best pie apples :
1. Sierra Beauty - the best! Tart, great flavor. Doesn’t need much cinnamon. Add a little extra sugar to balance the tartness!
2. Granny Smith-good. These are ripe. So more flavor than store bought.
4. True Golden Delicious.
5. Jonathan apples. Don’t hold their shape, but delicious.

Enjoy Gowan's classic applewine (Apfelwein) ciders in a traditional orchard setting.
‘Apfelwein’ 'viez,' or 'most'—there's a wonderful tradition of enjoying cider outside in the orchard.
Get a glass from our new cider taphouse right in the orchard. Try the cider flight paired with traditional Oktoberfest picnic—savory fresh local handmade bratwurst, soft pretzels, and our delicious house apple crisp made fresh with our organic Fall Pippin apples.
