Cookies and Cream Cinnamon Rolls ๐ช๐ฅฎ
Ingredients:
Dough:
2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
1 cup warm milk (110ยฐF/45ยฐC)
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
2 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
4 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp salt
Cookies & Cream Filling:
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
1 tbsp ground cinnamon
1 cup crushed Oreo cookies
Cream Cheese Glaze:
4 oz cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
2-3 tbsp milk
1/2 cup crushed Oreo cookies for garnish
Directions:
Prepare the Dough:
In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast in the warm milk and let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
In a large bowl, beat together the softened butter and granulated sugar until creamy. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing well.
Gradually add the flour and salt, mixing until a soft dough forms. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes, or until smooth and elastic.
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Prepare the Filling:
In a medium bowl, mix together the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and ground cinnamon until smooth.
Gently fold in the crushed Oreo cookies.
Assemble the Cinnamon Rolls:
Once the dough has risen, roll it out on a lightly floured surface into a large rectangle, about 1/4 inch thick.
Spread the cookies & cream filling evenly over the dough.
Starting from the long edge, tightly roll up the dough into a log and cut it into 12 even slices.
Place the rolls in a greased 9x13-inch baking dish, cover, and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
Bake the Cinnamon Rolls:
Preheat the oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC).
Bake the rolls for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.
Make the Cream Cheese Glaze:
In a medium bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese and butter until smooth.
Gradually add the powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk, mixing until smooth and creamy.
Drizzle the glaze over the warm cinnamon rolls and sprinkle with additional crushed Oreo cookies for garnish.
