Employee contest at Halloween lunch at work yesterday.
( still need pix from one more person to post )

Fun Halloween scratcher tickets, so everybody could participate in the winning opportunity.

Three contests:
Best Dip - spinach dip
Best Pumpkin- two winners
Creepiest Dish - worm jello, fingers on buns and face pie. Close 4th was pumpkin chocolate pimples.

Great Halloween lunch today celebrated with my great coworkers

Nacho Bar menu included:

* Nacho Cheese Dip
* Lice of Your Choice Ex (Spanish Rice)
* Monster Innards (shredded pork, diced chicken, and Carne Asada)
* Bile of Tormented Souls (chile verde salsa)
* Lizzard Intestines (finally shredded lettuce topped with a little bit of shredded cheese)
* Skeleton Bone Marrow (sour cream)
* Blood of the Innocent ( red salsa)
* Sautéed Tow Jam ( sliced pepperoncinis)
* Eyes of Evil (sliced black olives)
* Sliced Dinosaur Toes (sliced jalapeños)
* Toadstool Turds (Fried Plantains)

We also had soda and lots of fun desserts- including Halloween chocolates, pumpkin, cheesecake, cookies, and lots of mini cupcakes.

Everyone loved the lunch today.
It's always fun to see them enjoy themselves together.

Blue Watermelon Project is pleased to present the 2024 School Professional Feeding the Future Scholarship! Each Scholarship awarded will compensate the entry fee for up to 35 school professionals. This is a $100 value.

Submit this quick application for school professionals interested in attending the 2024 Feeding the Future Event (at no cost with scholarship) scheduled for Saturday, January 27th 2024 11am-2pm.

*School professionals will be prioritized by their level of direct engagement to students - ex. classroom educator or food service professional.

School Spotlight: Desert Mesa Elementary School

Cafeteria Manager: Gaby Gutierrez

The Desert Mesa Bobcats have a great team of school nutrition professionals on campus. The team is led by Miss Gaby, cafeteria manager. Miss Gaby has been with the district for 24 years. She is a very important part of the school community. She has a way of being a strong leader with a big heart ❤️

The cafeteria crew at Desert Mesa has a mix of experienced employees with a touch of new employees that work hard everyday to make sure their students and staff are fed nutritious meals. We are very proud of the hard work and dedication these employees put forth day in and day out. Keep shining bright Desert Mesa cafeteria staff 🌟
