WASHINGTON – Arizona farmers are absorbing sharply higher costs as diesel prices reach record levels, driven in large part by the conflict with Iran. Some are questioning how long they can stay in business.

Lettuce from the grocery store is $2.49 a bunch.we eat 4-8 a month. That’s $10-$20 until my seedlings come up.

Lettuce from the nursery is $5.98 for tray six pack. You might get lucky and get two or three lettuce per block
I have 24 sprouts

we’ll be munching on in 3-4 weeks. 24 and 3 - 4 times per plant until each plant is going to seed. 24x4=96 cut and come back lettuces.

If I paid for each lettuce in the store it would be $239. Total. Winning!!!!!!!! @topfans Facebook

My deep freezer was frozen shut! I’ve been defrosting for 2 days. It’ll be interesting to see what I do not have to by for 6 -9 months.
