It was another amazing Michaelmas Day!

We prepared a delicious soup in a real deal cauldron over a fire, had donuts for snack, performed and enjoyed a community play, sang a ton, and then filled our bellies with soup and buns outside at Foxfield.

Our other belated birthday is Jackson!

Jackson is also starting his final year at Beaver Farm and it’s going to be a wonderful one. This year, he is moving to Foxfield House where he’ll practice even more independence and live alongside some of his best friends. He also chose to mix up his schedule and join the farm crew in the morning, which is perfect because he really loves animals. His afternoons will be spent on Foxfield where he can show off his skills at seeding, transplanting, and weeding.

Jackson is a thoughtful and introspective young man who is always up for a good time but also knows the work needs to get done. We know he has a lot of fun stories about how summer to share with us and we can’t wait to hear all of them!

The school year starts tomorrow and after several weeks off, we have a couple of birthdays to catch up on!

First we celebrate Ava.

Ava is about to begin her final year at Beaver Farm, and it has been such a beautiful time. If you notice, she’s caring for others in both of these photos because her heart is filled with love and compassion for the world around her. She goes out of her way to support her community and leads by example.

Ava is joining the woodshop/forest crew this year where she will get to connect more deeply with her natural surroundings and expand on her knowledge of trees, birds, and inner growth. In the afternoons, she’s back to Foxfield Flowers where she’ll get to visit with the greenhouse cats, plant flowers, and stretch her creative muscles.

We’re really excited to hear all about her summer and give her the last little tools we can to prepare her for a life post Beaver Farm this year because we know her future will be bright and whatever she strives for it to be.

Please join us in wishing Ava a very happy belated birthday!!
