A friend's mother was recently diagnosed with anemia and told that she could no longer drink her morning cup of tea.
She asked me if I could come up with a tea that wouldn't inhibit iron absorption so she could still have something warm and comforting to drink in the mornings and throughout the day.

This is a blend of nettle, rooibos, lavender buds, lemon verbena, and rose hips. This tea is caffeine free, gentle on the stomach, and also contains 2.5mg of iron and 40mg of vitamin C per serving.

More importantly, she loved it 🥰

I've been harvesting oat straw for our tea blends, as well as the unripe oat seeds or "milky oats"

Milky oats contain flavonoids that are very soothing to the nervous system. They are highly beneficial for people experiencing emotional stress, anxiety, or hormone imbalance. Even in single doses, milky oat extract has been shown in studies to increase cognitive function and improve mood. I'll use these to make a tincture that we can drip under our tongues or add to drinks when needed. I'll also leave about half of them to mature so we'll have oats to sow next year.

The oat straw contains lower levels of these flavonoids and high levels of calcium and magnesium; making it beneficial for relaxation and sleep. We use it in our Goodnight, Steep Tight and Flower Power tea blends.
