After all the shenanigans involved in loading the ladies up and hauling them in, I wish I had some exciting news to share.

But unlike some pages, I'm not about to drag this out for engagement.

Here's the update: our girls are simply too large. They're too far along for the ultrasound to give an accurate head count, and they're too large for radiographs to be useful.

So what do we know? The ladies are large and in charge, and if they go full term, our kidding window starts around November 3rd.

That's the entire update.

No secret twins, triplets, or surprise announcements.

Just a handful of very pregnant goats keeping us all guessing.

Stay tuned. Kid season is coming.

In hindsight, loading 6 pregnant Nubian goats by yourself was probably not the brightest idea.
But did I die? No. Are the ladies okay? Maybe... their bleets say otherwise.
On the bright side, I'm not going to be late for our appointment so I'll call that a win.

Wedekind Farm Where did I go wrong?

I tried giving Boomer a marshmallow.

Then I tried keeping them in my pocket.

Boomer was convinced I was trying to poison him.

So what's worse... showing up at the fence empty-handed or with a pocket full of "suspicious" snacks?

The day has finally arrived!

We're loading up our 6 Nubian ladies and heading in for their ultrasounds.

Walked up to the fence without his treats today.

The disappointment in his teefers said it all.

Pretty sure I'm going to pay for this oversight later today. Send help (or extra snacks).

I told him I needed 5 minutes of personal space to get work done.

Boomer took that as a personal challenge.

He officially has zero concept of boundaries, but I guess I wouldn't have it any other way.

All I wanted was one nice video of me brushing Boomer. That was the plan anyway.
Belle saw me. Belle saw my phone. Belle saw that little red record button.
And when her big ol' nose couldn't reach it, she chose violence... or at least sabotage.

Boomer has finally accepted that his water trough isn’t coming back anytime soon.

So, like any adaptable farm resident, he’s downgraded to an empty protein tub.

Now, if replacement boards started falling from the sky for free, we might revisit the water trough situation.

Until then, the plastic tub gets the job done.

We could.

The calf would be about the cutest thing we've ever seen.

But then Hazel would start being Hazel, productivity would come to a complete stop, and Boomer's patience would be tested daily.

Honestly, I don't think Boomer could handle that much tiny chaos in one package.

Getting ready for all the Nubian kids coming in a few weeks!

We’ll find out how many kids we should be expecting out of our six ladies on Wednesday!
