2023 will be an exciting year for RHF! 🥰
We are a family-owned farm, established by Mark & Doni Goodwin, in the small town of Piedmont, AL - located in NE Alabama.
2023 will be an exciting year for RHF! 🥰
For over a week we’ve had crystal blue skies, steady (sometimes strong!) winds, & temps of highs in the 70s/lows in the 40s. I love this farm!
Received an update on our sweet Archie yesterday. We love that he is thriving with his new fam. We sure miss him! ❤️
We have a few too many Earls than Pearls. 😅
We have 4 Rhode Island Red & 1 Buff Orpington roosters - looking for new coops/runs. 16 weeks old & BEAUTIFUL! Located in the Jacksonville/Piedmont, AL area. PM for more information.
Cluck Norris has led his ladies out into the run. I overheard him mentioning something about a wet tshirt contest or some foolery. His look of disbelief at Opal’s reply of “if you ain’t got no money, take yo’ broke ass home” is priceless.
Our sweet 2-day old White Leghorn chicks delivered this morning from Cackle Hatchery out of Missouri. Super impressed & in LOVE! ❤️
RHF is vibrant but the 7th circle of hell HOT!
Sweet babies have flown our coop & are now in their very own Cluckingham Palace! 🙌🏼
They grow so fast! Not much longer & they will be moved to the Cluckingham Palace! 🐥
❤️
After paying $5 for a dozen large eggs this past week, I said to myself “never say never”. Many have asked if we’d ever have chickens on our farm & a quick “No!” always followed. However, we’ve brought home Orpington & Rhode Island Red chicks today…..with Leghorns delivering next month. I’ll be damn if we starve or go broke trying to provide for our family…….while our lovely government passes out billions in aid (from our pockets!) to foreign countries.
RHF is alive & absolutely beautiful tonight!
The last 3-4 months without babies/our herd has been…..very different. Sure, life has carried on but there’s certainly been a void. We’re incredibly thankful for those that have loved those that we parted with, have entertained the numerous messages of “how are they looking?” as they’ve neared due dates, asked that they give face scratches to those on their birthdays (yes, I have each birthday documented), & have shared kidding shots with us. We love you all! ❤️
We sat up on the front property today, marveling at the ”clean up” progress that’s been made over the last month. Mr. RHF sat back & said, “I don’t see us without goats for very long.”
The man reads my mind. 🥰
You make me a better human. 🖤

Nothing makes us happier tonight than to see our boy, Archie, in his first show ever - the CTDGA Big Buckle Bonanza show in Weatherford, TX. He placed 3rd in his class in all of the rings except for ring 3, where he placed 2nd.
For his first time in the ring, we are thrilled but we’re most happy & thankful for the Borg family, who now owns him & is now giving him his best life. ❤️
We are so thankful for you all that have placed our LGD pups in your homes. We only have 2 beautiful males left that are ready for their forever homes. PM for more info!
We have LGD pups that will be looking for their very own herds to watch over in about 4 weeks.

Rock Hill Farm updated their business hours.
Welcome home, you beautiful boy! A special thanks to for this absolute handsome beast!
We took a nice little drive today to Tennessee where we dispersed of the remainder of our herd to wonderful farms & as we near home, I am incredibly sad. Happy for our babies but sad for us. While we are so very thankful for the perfect people & homes that all of our babies have gone to, pulling up to an empty barn just ain’t sittin’ right. Yes, we have the horses but it will never be the same.
Nubians are the most favored dairy goats & for good reason. They’ve taught us love in a manner that we never knew we had in us. They taught us kindness, patience, & how to just enjoy a “simple “ life. Our Nubians were loved with every single ounce of our beings & they gave it right back to us. Ten-fold. And, they’ve placed amazing people in our lives. People that have that very same love of Nubians. People that would stop at the drop of a dime to coach, cheer us on, encourage, & even cry with. People that we will forever cherish. We aren’t going away. We’ll be here cheering you all on thru kidding season. Show season. “Here, let me rant” season. Whichever. We can’t wait to see what all of our babies do for their new homes.
We’ll be watching - just from an empty barn. ❤️
❤️
Archie has made it safe & sound to his new home in Kansas. Our hearts are at ease tonight! ❤️
As of today, the entire herd is spoken for. It warms our hearts knowing that their new farms will love them like we have. We couldn’t ask for more! ❤️

Who needs an incredible herdsire? ⭐️
For a solid week, I’ve attempted to drum up this post with zero luck. My heart starts fluttering. I get nauseous. I throw my phone down. And, I cry. Back in late 2018, we set a new goal for our farm: get into Nubians, start showing, start breeding - with some of the best genetics. Nobody told me that I’d fall absolutely head over heels in love with Nubians. Nobody told me that we’d meet some of the best human beings on this planet; people with the same love & passion for Nubians that became like family. People that we could pick up the phone & call, text, or FB message in search of advice or that would lend an ear. People that we…..love dearly. Along the way, we’ve learned so much. SO MUCH! We’ve poured our hearts, blood, sweat, & tears into our herd. We’ve marveled over new life our girls put on the ground each year. We’ve celebrated victories. But I will admit that on 10/16/2020 - the day we lost our beloved Sailor, something in me changed. My heart broke into a million pieces. I didn’t want it to change but it did. I’ve denied it. I’ve fought it. I’ve plowed forward because our animals are OUR FAMILY.
We’ve shared the best experiences with our animals, aside from showing - and they are so worthy that at this point we feel as if we are only providing a disservice to them reaching their highest potential. Our herd has taught us so much that this is absolutely the hardest thing to do. After the upcoming 2022 kidding season, we will be dispersing all of our Nubians & I will be very picky as to the homes that they go to. They will be for sale - not ON sale. We currently have 2 junior does that can go at any time but our senior does will stay until after kidding season. We have to have that one last “new life” moment with our girls that are expecting. While there are new homes already lined up for some, feel free to contact us about what is/will be available. Serious inquiries ONLY.
Much love! ❤️

And I just thought I loved goats! 🤍
Rock Hill got a whole lot sweeter yesterday! 🤍
As with every day, we are thankful but we are VERY thankful this morning to have FINALLY wrapped up breeding season on Rock Hill! 🙌🏼
Faith had me nervous. I never thought she’d cycle but this morning, love was in the air! Our sweet Faith will be a 2yo FF that will kid late April 2022, pending confirmation of course, & we have only 1 buckling reservation left! We’ve been super excited about this breeding & cannot wait! 🥰
Happy Thanksgiving!!! 🤎🦃🤎
We spent a greater portion of today doing whatever we wanted to do. Coming out of the woods, I couldn’t help but capture what we are so proud of. ❤️
Hard to believe it’s been a year. There are no words that could possibly describe how much we miss our girl. The hole left in our hearts since we lost her is immense. 😢
❤️
Tate - reporting for duty! 🙌🏼
Don’t mind me! 😆
🤗
Faith, the silly gatekeeper. 🤎
Nevermind her wet grass face. Mill hopes your Monday is wonderful! 🖤
Look, Ma. No cavities! 😆
Went to feed & the 4 doelings met me at the gate. No big girls in sight. Immediately I’m asking myself, “how in the hell did they get out of their stall?” & b) “where are my big girls?!” I ride into the barn & find the big girls locked in the doeling stall. 😅 GOATS! 🤦🏻♀️
And well, Bella likes Kubotas too. 😅
London couldn’t have cloned herself any better than she did with her sweet little doeling, Paris. They are just alike in every way! ❤️
Vegas wants to know when that big Kubota tractor will be done & out of their loafing area. 😅🥰
