Our calving season started a little earlier than expected. Last night we welcomed our first set of ET twins into the world. These little guys (40 pounds each) are about two weeks early. They are sired by Oracle and out of the 541B39 donor who is now owned by HK Cattle & Farms LLC. A very special thank you to Tyrell Shelley and the crew at 4 Alarm Cattle Company for raising our ET calves this season. This mama was pretty rank but Tye and his family were up to the challenge!! 30D3 had some exciting results on her first IVF of the season. We froze twelve reverse sorted (sexed female) embryos from Business Line. We dropped LM OPPORTUNITY 30H78 off at the Bull Stud yesterday. We teamed up with 3G Cattle and CJC FARMS to purchase this incredible calving ease prospect to use on our heifers. 263H8 was our final purchase at The Chimney Rock Cattle Company Sale this year. This purchase means a lot to us because she’s our first heifer from our good friends at Cross N Farm Brangus. I’ve tried twice now to buy an animal from Randy and Sam and just hadn’t been able to pull it off. 263H8 was one of the winners of the Pen Show and got an invitation to be added to the Sale. On Saturday we were excited to purchase our new heifer bull. CJC FARMS, 3G Cattle and Sunshine Acres teamed up again to purchase LM ORACLE 30H78. Sired by one of the up and coming SUPERSTARS in the Geneplus line up and out of one of the greatest producing cows in the breed, 30H78 checked our boxes for pedigree. In addition, this smooth made UB2 has more than enough Brangus character to put the style we wanted in our cattle. He also combines 10 EPD traits in the top 35% of the breed. We think this guy is special and we’ll plan to have him collected after his first breeding season.
