Something new is taking shape at Locavores Fork Farm!

I've been spending some time working on a few handmade welding projects. This horseshoe trivet is one of the projects currently on the table.

I enjoy taking simple materials and turning them into something useful that can last for years.

As we head toward fall, you'll be seeing more than just mums around the farm. Firewood, black walnuts, and some new handmade projects are all in the works.

Throwback Thursday takes me back to where my farming story began.

The first picture is my grandpa. He had a farm up north where he grew wheat and raised cattle.

The second picture is me as a boy, sitting on his John Deere tractor. Long before Locavores Fork Farm began, the seeds of farming had already been planted in me.

Today, I’m proud to be a second-generation farmer. My farm may look different from my grandpa’s, but the connection to the land, the animals, and the work that comes with farming continues.

I’m thankful for where it all started and proud to carry a piece of his farming legacy forward.

There’s always something that needs doing around the farm, but we wouldn’t trade this life for anything.

Late summer is a season of finishing one job while already preparing for the next. We’re looking forward to cooler weather, fall mums, outdoor cooking, and all the good things the next season brings to Locavores Fork Farm.

Fall is getting closer at Locavores Fork Farm! 🍂🎃

Mums, pumpkins, hay bales, Dutch oven cooking and cooler days — this is one of our favorite times of the year on the farm.
