Somebody NEEDS this little guy. His facial markings look like he’s got a grin with two front teeth poking out and I giggle every time I see it. 🤓 Grandma’s on all sides are awesome milkers into old age and on paper his dam should be nicer than grandma (I haven’t milked her yet 1000% my fault not hers) who just kidded at 12-14 (against my best wishes I’d like on the record). Happy to whether him with a deposit, but it feels like people are always looking for flashy goats when I don’t have any and this chocolate buckskin definitely fits the bill plus packs milking longevity and lots more I’d be happy to talk your ear off about!

We experienced a new first with this crew: it’s her third lactation and BOTH of Mandy’s babies have milk goiters this year 😆. Last year I milked out her excess with twins on her and this year I didn’t want to encourage production so I didn’t. I think it’s safe to say the babies didn’t mind a bit and I’m so excited to see how they grow 😁.

Buckling spotlight: Clara and David’s little boy! I’m tempted to keep one, but he’s related to all my new doelings so I certainly don’t need him. I have no idea what color he is, but I’m pretty sure there’s moonspots and roan both and he is built to LAST. Seriously, if you’re looking for longevity, look no further. Clara apparently brought herself out of retirement last year when David spent an evening out with the herd 🥴. Her last baby was supposed to be her last baby, so she sure surprised me when she developed an udder a few days before this guy made his appearance 😅. That being said, he’s growing great, and she’s fat despite being fully toothless in front and just seems to be happy to be a momma again. I am SO excited about what his sire is bringing to the table, and Clara is 12 or 13 and has still got it apparently! She was milking a just a touch under a quart each morning the last time I was kid sharing and regularly milking, and I believe she was 9 at the time. She has a butter soft udder that milks all the way out and teats long enough that it’s easy and quick by hand, but she never minded the milker either. I can’t remember a day she was sick or a time she needed anything besides for dry skin lol. I can fault her that she’s a flaky girl sometimes 😂. Since he’s her last I’d really love to see him in a home as a buck, but I’m not set on that as long as he’s loved. She also has a gorgeous (I may be bias but she’s always been one I love looking at and kissing on lol) adult granddaughter available in milk alone or with her ‘25 OR ‘26 doeling. I don’t really have a preference, I’d just like to keep one or the other lol. I’ve had to focus my time and energy on other projects both times she’s been in milk (last year and this March-now) so I just never got around to stand training her and I desperately need to make cuts that simplify my life 😫. Since her last kidding she’s a little iffy about me, but if I have food and no syringes we’re all good, but she used to come up just for kisses so I’m hoping it’s just a hormone induced phase lol. As long as you don’t turn her loose on 20 acres like she is here, I think you’d probably get along just fine. I’d love to see them go to a milking home as well but as long as they’re loved I’d be happy 😌. If you wanna know more about little man, or Olive and her daughters don’t hesitate to ask! Whew, sorry that was so long winded but hopefully at least my buyers can never say I held back on them 😂

Outsourcing the dog grooming. Everyone has to help out on this farm, you lay or you pay! 🤣 On a real note though, Heidi is an absolute angel and we love her so, so very much 🥹

Same piece of twine, different photobomb 🫠😂. I swear we pick up, but I find myself noticing little pieces of trash or things that need fixed in almost every frame. I often feel like trash is the most prolific crop we grow living along the side of the highway.. But here’s to posting the baby goat pics anyways because at the end of the day we’re all just doing our best! And that’s all we really can do. Don’t let your “trash” steal your joy from today! 🥰

I have four Easter egger hens that I’m wanting to part with and these girls drew the unlucky straw ONLY because they were easy to identify in the flock as colored layers 😋. I have a couple white and brown layers as well and would LOVE to set someone up with an established rainbow flock, but at the end of the day if someone only wants these girls that’s fine too. Honestly I caught them for someone who didn’t show and my heart wants to just put them back but we’ve been drowning in eggs for a while now and they’d be of better use with someone else. The girl with a 2 on her is ironically 2 years old this year and the other two I believe will turn 3. Don’t let that scare you off though, I hatched them from heritage breeds they so should keep laying for several more years. I’m collecting at least four eggs from the tractor every other day so I truly believe they’re all laying right now but here’s 3 of them- the fourth is laying a plain green I think. Asking the bill in the picture per lady, please don’t offer less because that’s just plain what they’re worth to me if they stay here- sorry! We haven’t disease tested but we also haven’t brought in any birds outside of tested hatcheries for at least 6 years now so while their odds of scary things are never 0, they are surely lower than ladies that have been passed around or exposed to other birds that have. No shade to those who shop around, I’m just too leery to 🤣
