We currently have 3 broody girls 🙄
For my non chicken people, that means they want to stay on a nest and hatch eggs. They generally yell like this because they’re being disturbed.
We don’t need more chickens right now so I’m collecting eggs at this point

There is so much variation in eggs, not just the color of the shell, but the color of the yolks as well.
These eggs are all laid by my flock. The hens are all fed the same diet and free range in the same area. Some may forage more than others.
The good news is that they are all still delicious and nutritious, no matter how dark or light they are!

Do you know that you can tell if a duck is a hen or a drake (female or male) by the sound of their quack?

Males have more of a raspy whisper, demonstrated by Sage, and females have the traditional quack that you think of with a duck, as demonstrated by Cinnamon
