Volhawk Be Bold was purchased at the SUNY Cobleskill Dairy Fashion Sale and her Dam, Volhawk Chief Briana (Reserve Grand Champion Holstein) was purchased by our friend Brooklyn Zielineski, they were 🥇 Dam & Daughter

Hay-Aud-Ay Unix Fabulous and Hay-Aud-Ay Pazzles Fury were 🥈

Exhibitor Herd:
🥈: Hay-Aud-Ay Bruins Fresca, Hay-Aud-Ay Unix Fabulous and Brigeen Blackout Lysandra
First was our friend Brooklyn Zielineski with her three cows that included the Grand and Reserve Grand Cows!

None of this would be possible without our friends who support us in our chaos; thank you to Bryce and Ryan Hamilton for continuing to be in our show family, they ALWAYS show up for us and we can’t wait until Amelia is old enough to show🥰 Thank you to Van Slyke Family Farm and Roll N View Farm for taking in our animals and remaining invested in seeing our kids be successful in the show ring, your friendships mean so much!
Thank you Alyssa Lynn and Olin family for assisting where needed…mostly catching poop…and helping our week go smoother!
Our show experience would be awfully dull without the Wilcox family, whether it’s Kelly’s directing, Ashton and Levi’s reluctant hugs or Justy’s paper towels, it just wouldn’t be the same without you 😀

We are unbelievably proud of the kids we are raising, that’s not to say they are perfect, but I like to think that the sum-of-whole is good! Hayden makes all of the breeding selections and always has. Audrey does the vast majority of chores and working with the heifers with Hayden being in school and working full time. Her work is evident when kids seek us out to use our animals for leadsmen and showmanship contests. Both kids are good friends, kind to the littles and quick to offer help to others when needed, I think they’ve turned out ok so far 😉

Now it’s time for a nap 😴

Open show showmanship…was a challenge for certain people 😆…the judge asked Audrey what class her calf was in and she responded with “Holstein Heifer Calf” …whoops 🤣🤣…it’s a good thing she looks so good on the move with Be Bold! That’s what happens when it’s day “25” of the fair 😮‍💨

Audrey placed 2nd 🥈 in the 14-15 yr old class.

Hayden also placed 2nd 🥈 in the highly competitive 18-21 yr old class, this had to have been a challenge for the judge!

Hayden was eventually selected as the Reserve Master Showman 🏆 Thank you to Alton and Marissa Rudgers for sponsoring this award; Alton does a lot for the dairy shows at our fair and has mentored Hayden over the years. We appreciate all of the time/energy/resources you put into making the dairy program what it is in Wyoming County 🙌…and we love that you can appreciate a good corn dog when you see one 😆

Thank you Jessica Kennedy for making the trip to Pike to judge this showmanship competition, it wasn’t an easy one, we have some pretty impressive showmen in Wyoming County!

4-H conformation day was a long one 😮‍💨 Thanks to our friend Brody Jackson for coming to help get the ladies out and looking their best!

This was Hayden’s last 4-H show 😢

The kids started the day out with our milk cows. We house our big animals between two farms of friends of ours, so they live their lives as freestall cows and once a year we take a couple to fair 🎡

Hay-Aud-Ay Bruins Fresca (Summer Jr 2) and Hay-Aud-Ay Unix Fabulous (Jr 3) both won their classes 🥇, Fresca was pushed forward for Sr Champion consideration and was selected as HM Senior Champion 🏆

Hay-Aud-Ay Pazzles Fury, a late March calf, was 7th in a HUGE class of calves and 8 yr old kids 🤭

Volhawk Be Bold was 2nd Winter Calf 🥈 for Audrey, she’s such a pretty calf and the two of them make such a good pair 🥰 BB was pushed forward for JC consideration.

Ms Epiphany Braley-ET was 3rd 🥉 for Audrey and Brigeen Blackout Lysandra was 2nd 🥈 for Hayden in the super competitive Fall Calf class.

Hay-Aud-Ay SF Dutch was a horribly behaving Summer Yearling for Hayden, she was 4th.

Oakfield Arc Lioness-RED-ET was 2nd 🥈Spring Yearling for Hayden.

Overall a good day, all of the heifers received blue excellence ribbons for premiums…even if the front desk ladies kept giving the Dairy Ambassador various colors to hand to Hayden 🤣🤣

The Wyoming County Fair is finally here! Sunday is 4-H Showmanship where over 100 4-H’rs compete for the titles of Jr Master and Sr Master Showmen.

Audrey Mae had herself a day!

This was the last year that Audrey is considered a Jr and it was Hayden’s last year ever for 4-H 😩

Audrey was honored by being selected as the winner of her class, winning Jr Master Showman and then HM Sr Master Showman 🤯

Hayden was one of four in a large class of 17-18 year olds to be pulled out to work for the honors in his class eventually placing 4th. We are so proud of all that he has accomplished in his 4-H career, and for the good friend to others he is and the (mostly) good role model he is for the younger kids. We’re most proud of the fact that he is always willing to step in and help the other kids when needed.

Thank you to Judge Bret Bossard who spent a REALLY long day with our 4-H’rs! He took the time to give each kid extensive feedback and we are all so appreciative of his knowledge and thorough reasons at the end of each class.

The Allegany County fair is a nice in and out fair that our family enjoys partaking in every year. Without question the BEST part of this show is the company that we keep in the barn! 🤗 The Bailey, Hinz, Hatch, Decker…and even Beardsley 😆…families make this show one of our favorites 😀
Hayden and Audrey walked away with:
Two 1st 🥇 placings
Two 2nd 🥈 placings
One 3rd 🥉
and a 5th
Two of three of the heifers pushed forward for JC 🏆were our heifers!

This past weekend, in the midst of sweet corn 🌽 planting chaos and a new baby 👶🏼(not ours, just our favorite fitter’s!) we managed to survive the WNY Summer Showcase show with the help of our friends!
Thank goodness for Ryan Hamilton, the Wilcox family and Taylor Costa who helped keep our train on its tracks 😮‍💨
Audrey had a fantastic day showing on Saturday, she won her heat and then went on to place 3rd 🥉 overall in the Master Showman round amongst a group of very accomplished showmen 🙌 Thanks for the help with fitting her heifer Brody!
