The last few weeks have taught me a lot about giving back. It’s been a blessed (and exhausting) few weeks of helping in various roles at church, youth camp, and other places. Today we had a wonderfully BUSY day at the shop. We made 68 drinks in just a few hours and actually RAN OUT of ice! The parking lot was overflowing, it was crowded inside, and I LOVED IT.

It was truly a blessing to see our little shop crowded with customers who were starting a beautiful summer Saturday with us. Whether you were on your way to the pool, traveling on vacation, or just wanted to hang at your local bakery cafe, THANK YOU! It means so much to our small family to have such support in a small town.

I want to give back as well. I’ve been posting about our church’s young adult mission trip to the Dominican Republic that will be this July. A great group of young adults and counselors will be helping Haitian refugees as well as helping a local community build a much needed chicken farm for their economy. You and I have it so easy here compared to parts of the world like that, and we can help be a little blessing to a community.

I’m feeling so thankful and blessed, so Rise & Grind is going to MATCH the first $100 in donations made at the link below. That’s just $10 from 10 of our 6,700 followers. That should be SO EASY to reach!

Our church will be sending a group of young adults to the Dominican Republic this July and we need your help to get them there!

They will be helping Haitian refugees in the Dominican Republic by ministering to the children, their families, local churches, and helping them build a chicken farm for their community. All donations go towards covering the cost of the trip which begins on July 30th.

Their goal is to raise $30,000. Our wonderful followers can be a part of this life changing opportunity by donating a small amount for the trip! Follow the link to donate and help change many lives - both of the locals and of the young people making the trip! 🙏🏻

It’s a busy life.

This banana split cheesecake has taken so many hours to finish, but it’s finally ready! It’s probably the most complex cheesecake I’ve made yet. 😮‍💨

It has graham cracker and vanilla wafer crust, vanilla “ice cream” cheesecake filling, a layer of vanilla pastry cream (think vanilla pudding ), homemade whipped cream, split pineapple-dipped bananas, chocolate ganache, more whipped cream, crushed pineapple, strawberry puree, and, of course, a cherry on top. 🍒

This is a summer cheesecake if ever there was one, and I can assure you it won’t be made often because of the complexity…so come grab a piece and treat yourself to a luxurious dessert this weekend! 🍌🍨
