We've had a hectic few weeks, but we've made significant progress. The carport is now complete, the feed shed has been relocated, and our grain bin is standing, awaiting a new coat of paint next spring. Last week, Donna, the cow we purchased this summer expecting a spring calf, surprised us with a heifer calf in the fall instead. We've also made substantial progress on our new feed area, with only a top rail and ground leveling left to finish. Things are slowly coming together.

Update on lambing! We have figured out what had happened. We had left 2 ram lambs in until October. Normally this is never an issue as even when we have tried for lambs this early we have never gotten a ewe to take. This year is clearly the exception. We have had 12 ewes lambs so far for a total of 16 lambs. Definitely been a chaotic few weeks to say the least.

Well this was extremely unexpected and the absolute last thing I thought I would find in the barn today. Lambing was not supposed to start until April,but I suppose 2022 lambing has officially begun. Single layers of fence don’t stop rams from getting what they want I suppose.😬
