Good Morning!

How was your weekend? Mine was a whirlwind. But a very fun one. My cousin came up from Missouri. Went with her and another cousin (we are all within a few months in age) to Rice Lake to get matching tattoos. On Sunday we all went to Viking Fest. Wish we could do more together, but Missouri is quite a ways away.

Buti do have a business to run. And luckily I did manage to get a couple of orders in amidst all the frolicking. Which means we got an order today that brought us more Autumn goodies. This time in the form of quince (you gotta try it poached!) and persimmon. Hopefully we will have persimmon bars in the near future. And we have a new kombucha today as well. One made with......wait for it....coffee! Can't wait to try it myself!

Good Morning!

They are predicting highs around 80 for the weekend. But for today, Fall is in the air. And in the produce cooler! Yesterday's delivery brought us some absolutely stunning fresh pomegranate and cranberries. Looks like I will be making fresh cranberry sauce in the near future! And very possibly some fermented cranberry relish! As for the pomegranate, they have dates lined up with yogurt and salad! Personally, I think the new Kalona honey yogurt and pomegranate will be the perfect couple. Now if we could just get some persimmon.....

Good Afternoon!

How is your day going? Busy around here. I wanted to get this post out this morning, but there was way too much that needed doing! Tomorrow is another big order day. Which means we have to have room in the back fridges and freezers. And rather than just shove things around, I figured it was more beneficial to put them where they belong. Which meant bagging cashews, and turmeric, and cheese. And cleaning up the displays to look all pretty and make room.

But before the order comes in I do have a couple new items to share with you. We brought in anther flavor of the Hobby Farmer Switchel. This is their original. Wasn't sure what to expect, but it is fabulous! Very ginger-y. And we also have another brand along the same line - Siren Shrub. Also local, if you couldn't tell by the name. We went with tart cherry. Who knew apple c***r vinegar could taste so good!

And one last note...Guess what is once again available for shipping? Chocolate dipped fruit from Mavuno Harvest! Mango and pineapple are expected the end of the week. Look for them the early part of next week!

Greetings!

How was your weekend? Mine was very relaxing. Had a terrific dinner with friends on Saturday. Sunday we just did some laid back running. Returned some tech we didn't need. Stopped by to see our favorite herbalist - That Brainy B - at a vendor event. If you are having any tummy issues, you really need to try her newest seasonal tea with cascara. Tastes great, and it really helps! Available at both locations. But don't wait too long, it is a limited release! And then took Noli for a walk down by the river. Poor girl was so tired she ate supper and spent the rest of the night snoozing on her bed!

Other than that, we just got an order in from Nordic Naturals, so that helped fill some empty spots. A couple of other orders are on the way also. Including a big grocery order tomorrow. Guess I better go make some room in the fridge and freezer!

Happy Pre-Friday!

How is your week going? Things around here are sailing along smoothly. We have all of the One Last Cup coffees back in stock. Finally! And , not sure if I already mentioned this, but so is the Harmony Valley soup mix! And rutabagas, turnips, and parsnips are coming in soon. And in the wonderful world of fruit, berries are getting harder to source, and therefore spendier. But on the good side, persimmon and pomegranate are right around the corner! The changing of the seasons is always a bittersweet time. Some of my favorite things are in the rearview until next year, but also some of my other favorites are anxiously awaited! What are you looking forward to this season?

Good Morning!

How was your weekend? Mine was pretty much non stop busy. But a lot of fun! Although my poor dog would disagree. I was gone so much that I think she thought I didn't love her anymore. I tried to explain that if she was nicer to people she could come with to things like Fort Fest and Ren Fest, but she was not ready to make that compromise just yet. Despite her being upset with me, I had a great weekend!

And now I need to get back to work! But first, I have a couple of updates for you. First, we have a new drink in the cooler this week. Hobby Farmer Switchel. We currently have cinnamon and turmeric flavors. These delicious gems contain your recommended daily dose of apple c***r vinegar, but you would never know it from the taste! And bonus - they are made locally!

Second, One Love Sourdough is back! Whe currently have cranberry, rye, and tree hugger. We even have some pre-sliced. The loaves look a little different, but they are still just as solid. And tasty. Let us know which form you prefer, and we will try to accommodate.

Happy Friday!

I would be happier if it was warm and sunny. I know we need the moisture, but I also have two outdoor events this weekend. Good weather would definitely be a plus! But it will be fun either way. Fort Fest on Saturday and Ren Fest on Sunday. It is going to be a busy weekend for sure.

Today is also going to be a busy day. In the last two days we have received a total of 69 pounds of bulk herbs. That is a lot of jars to be filled. Guess what I'm going to be doing? Hopefully, the herbs you are looking for are part of that 69 pounds.

Good Morning!

It's been a minute! I apologize for not posting all week. I was halfway through my post on Monday and something came up. Obviously, I never got back to it. I promise to try to do better.

So, what's news? Not a lot. The big black box is still blocking the entrance to the back room in Pine. The 'buyer' (it was free) already had everything disconnected to move it, but ran into some staffing issues and hasn't been able to pick it up yet. As a small business owner, I get that. It will happen eventually.

We are expecting a substantial order of herbs today. Hopefully that will replenish at least most of the empty jars. Depending, of course, on what ends up listed as out of stock. Fingers crossed!

Hello!

It is almost the weekend again! Can't believe how fast the days are flying by. The state fair is over. School is back in session. Summer is basically over. Which means it is officially squash season. And this week we have some big, beautiful butternut squash! As the evenings get cooler, it is the perfect time to throw one in the oven with some butter and maybe a hint of brown sugar. Or perhaps you are more of a soup person. If squash just isn't your thing, check out the gorgeous eggplant we got in this week. Breaded, fried, and dipped in marinara - mmm! Or maybe some eggplant lasagna? The perfect answer if you have that one person in your life (as I do) that is totally anti pasta. Or maybe you have some ideas you'd like to share?

Good Morning!

How is your week going? Anything new and exciting? We have a couple of new things around here. For one thing, we agreed to do a trial run of Good Karma protein flax milk. We have unsweetened regular and vanilla in the fridge, as well as a shelf stable version. Also, Kalona now has a new flavor. Alongside the organic plain and vanilla yogurts you are used to seeing, you will now find a honey variety!
