I signed up for ELS's (data center developer) email list after their very first meeting about the data centers project. Since then, I keep hearing the same three words transparency, revenue, and opportunity.

You know what we haven't heard? One word about our health, water, our property values, or our quality of life.That's NOT transparency, that's marketing.

True transparency would mean showing us the FULL picture independent health impact studies, water usage numbers, what happened to property values in other communities that live next to these facilities. Not just the parts that make the project sound good.

Our county 'leaders' and ELS keep telling us what this project could do for Stokes County. They'll talk revenue all day. But if it's a "golden opportunity," why won't they talk about the risks on the record?

Unfortunately we won’t be able to attend Saturday’s community meeting regarding the proposed data center in Walnut Cove, but we still wanted to help spread the word.

If you are concerned about the project and want to connect with others in the community, this is a great opportunity to meet with local residents, share ideas, and discuss ways everyone can work together moving forward. Community involvement matters, and every voice counts. We encourage anyone interested to attend and stay informed.

***UPDATE
Well everyone, we want to personally thank those who helped spread the word about this data center project. Unfortunately, our voices fell to deaf ears. Despite overwhelming public opposition, our commissioners chose money over the people who live, work, and raise families here. They barely gave us the opportunity to speak, or have concerns that were raised answered.

If this data center is approved, it will be clear that our county commissioners chose the almighty dollar over the people they were elected to represent. This project has no place on this side of the county where families, farms, agriculture, and natural beauty define who we are.
This mess of an idea should have never been proposed here, and it’s up to us to stop it before irreversible damage is done.
If you live in Stokes County, please help by signing the petition and speaking up. Our voices matter but only if we use them.
No Data Center in Walnut Cove. Protect our county before it’s too late.
