Back to the Future Day is celebrated annually on October 21, commemorating the exact date Marty McFly & Doc Brown travel to in the future in Back to the Future Part II . While I didn't take my flying car or hoverboard to work this morning, I did watch the news on my flat screen tv before heading to the shop! Celebrate by watching the Back to the Future Trilogy, wear your puffy vest & Nikes, listen to Huey Lewis and travel back to the 80's with Michael J Fox.

I don't have any Huey Lewis on vinyl, so today we are listening to music on my cute little speaker while sipping Jamaican me Crazy and trying to find space for the new stuff that arrived yesterday.

Happy National Day on Writing ✍️ Celebrate by writing in your journal, handwriting a card or note to a friend, jot down short stories about your life... don't type, write 📒. We have a nice selection of unique Journals if you need one 😉. It is also National Youth Confidence Day, so go out there and lift them up, remind them how important they are and tell them how much their energy, uniqueness & opinions matter!

National Sweetest Day is today and dates back all the way to 1916 😱🍭🍫 . For 110 years, National Sweetest Day encourages folks to be generous even in the smallest ways. If you buy a treat for yourself, buy one for someone else too. Flash someone a sweet smile, help a neighbor, bake some sweet goodies for a friend, just do something sweet for someone... it's pretty easy!

My outfit for the day also celebrates the Birthday of American musician and songwriter Bob Weir (1947-2026), best known as a founding member of the Grateful Dead. Happy Get to Know Your Customers Day! We try to celebrate our customers every day, and we are very grateful to have the best! In three short years of business, we have made some wonderful friends, met people from all over the world and realized that there are a lot of really cool people around if you just take the time to get know them! So today, we celebrate you, and ask you, our customers, what do you need? What can we do better to serve you? What would you like to see in our shop?

Cheers to the friends that became customers, cheers to the customers that have become friends, cheers to the kids who stop in for ice cream & cookies, cheers to the doggies that stop in for water & treats, cheers to the tourists that we only see once or twice a year and cheers to the part timers who we do not get to see often enough! We sure do appreciate y'all ✌️🩷☕️🎶🤩

If you know me, you know I love music 🎶❤️🎶. I can't pick one band or musician as a favorite, but I have a top 3 (or 10) that I could listen to forever... Tom Petty is one of them. From the first time I heard "American Girl" on Fast Times at Ridgemont High in 1982 to Free Fallin' in 1989 to finally getting to see him live in 2003 and hearing The Last DJ, and of course, Wildflowers (my all time favorite), I have loved his music. To say I was excited when Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers was delivered to my front door last night would be an understatement 🤩. So today, we will be breaking into brand new vinyl in my collection!!!

Since it is National Dessert Day, if you go out to eat, order dessert first! Bake some homemade treats or stop by and sample Maple Cream Cookies 😋

Today we celebrate two birthdays in the musical world.... John Ford Coley(1948) and Sammy Hagar (1947) 🎶❤️🎸🖤. It is also National M&Ms Day and that is certainly a reason to celebrate 😋

They will be selling pulled pork sandwiches, baked goods provided by the Pine Knoll Shores Women's Club and running the shop while we are at Hippie Fest in Salisbury. Today is World Homeless Day. I don't expect any of us to celebrate homelessness, but we can certainly celebrate those around us that do so much to help. You can help by volunteering in your community to help those in difficult times, cook & serve at Hope Mission, Donate non-perishable food items to support Martha's Mission, Donate backpacks & school supplies to Backpack Buddies or clean out your coat closets and donate scarves, gloves, hats & coats 🧤🧥🥫. There are many opportunities to help in Carteret County and yes... there is a real need in our community.

I have Willie Nelson on the turntable to honor his work in helping the homeless. For years, Nelson and his family have participated in music releases and charity efforts that direct proceeds to homeless shelters and services 🥰.

Jamaican me Crazy in the coffee pot and good vibes in the air. We are collecting food to be taken to Martha's Mission from now through November. In December, we will be collecting coats, gloves, scarves & hats. ✌️❤️🎶☕️🤩
