It’s taken me an entire day to process the news I received yesterday morning that put me into a great shock and disbelieve. I have not cried as hard as did yesterday in a very long time. I knew Conrad Thompson for almost 24 years and he was my greatest English friend. The connection that both of our West Indian descendants participated in the construction of the Panama Canal was unique. I will forever miss our epically long conversations on the scene and filling me in on back stories that would blow my mind. Each time someone pivotal in the Jungle / Drum and Bass scene would pass away, Conrad and I would get on the phone and say, “Wow, I can’t believe this person is gone!”. Now here we are……

One of the true OG’s of sound system culture that was integral in reigning in crowd control over the mic to the rave. Some of the best parties I’ve ever dj’ed in my life were the ones that I shared the stage with Conrad. The most important thing I learned from him was when he told me, “Delano, you need to be absolutely sure that you’re giving the paying customer the very best experience each time they come to an event because they may not come back again.”. I’ve followed this advice transitioning into the food business after hanging up my headphones a few years ago and Conrad was always there with words of support / encouragement.

Conrad, love you brother! I’ll forever miss you tremendously and promise to keep it rolling on a high level till the end. AMEN 🎤🔊🔥💨💨💨
